It matters with certain coaches/franchises for sure.It won’t. As much as we like to think character and respect for the game matters in the draft. It doesn’t.

Prove it. Show your work.It matters with certain coaches/franchises for sure.
Fran disagrees with you. All the players do too.I don't care about winning the Holiday Bowl.
10 wins and a bowl win is good optics for the program but it's not even an NIT win level of accomplishment. We beat a team that had over 20 players opt out and transfer.

I'd love to find the one team that isn't going to draft Cam Ward because he didn't play the second half of the Pop Tarts Bowl.It matters with certain coaches/franchises for sure.
I'm sure if we were in the CFP, Fadil would've been playing.Fran disagrees with you. All the players do too.
Next week's NFL might have the lowest percentage of NFL starters players since the exhibition season. Except for a couple teams.so everyone is Ok that Allen is playing 1 series next week for the Bills and then stopping?
Go back to telling people there's a 0% chance of Kyle McCord playing in our bowl game. You were more amusing and slightly less pretentious then.I'd love to find the one team that isn't going to draft Cam Ward because he didn't play the second half of the Pop Tarts Bowl.
I'd be willing to bet Tomlin wouldn't draft a QB like that. Belicheck wouldn't. I'd be shocked if Dan Campbell would. Sure, the Giants or Panthers wouldn't care. And that list is pretty small to nil some years. NFL teams care about one thing, winning. Ward opting out of the 2nd half to protect himself, warranted or not, has zero impact on whether a team thinks he can be a good QB for them. He’s not going to opt out of NFL games, it’s two completely different environments. So NFL teams don’t care. If they had any interest in him to begin with they probably wished he didn’t play at all and are glad he skipped the 2nd half. The NFL doesn’t care about bowl season.
You mean the Josh Allen that has a broken non throwing hand and an injured elbow on his throwing arm that has to go out two weeks later and play in a playoff game? Yes, that's the same thing.so everyone is Ok that Allen is playing 1 series next week for the Bills and then stopping?

“We really think we found our franchise quarterback… but he didn’t play in the 2nd half of the pop tarts bowl, can’t draft him” If a team thinks they have a franchise quarterback they’re pulling the trigger regardless. I doubt they view it any different than sitting out the bowl entirely.I'd love to find the one team that isn't going to draft Cam Ward because he didn't play the second half of the Pop Tarts Bowl.
Cam really only hurt himself. He didn’t get to enjoy any of the delicious, giant Pop tart.I'd love to find the one team that isn't going to draft Cam Ward because he didn't play the second half of the Pop Tarts Bowl.
The fact that you think there's zero coaches that care if a player values personal records over team wins blows my mind. But sure, continue to over simplify. We'll agree to disagree. The Giants will do great work and when Cam Ward is a backup in 3 years none of it will matter anyways.not one team cares what he does in that bowl game play or not
RGIII came out in defense of Cam Ward saying he gave half a game. It occurred to me, yes he did. He gave half a game. Which they lost.
But that's a bit like giving a child half a cat for Christmas. You should clearly either give the whole cat, or if that's not in the cards, leave it at the shelter.
Nope. Fans aren't allowed to do that. They have full responsibility to back their team and the players no matter what. The players have no responsibility to the fans. Can you imagine being a Miami fan (I know you have to really have an imagination) loyally contributing to some collective, being excited that your Heisman candidate QB is playing in the bowl game, spending some good $ to cheer them on in person, going to all the pregame festivities, seeing your qb break a huge record, the team leading by 3 at half time and then watching him bail for the 2nd half and losing by a point? I’d be done.
Should the stats matter, then? NFL preseason stats don't count. It's an exhibition game. The team result doesn't matter.
What I don't get is why the NCAA allows all these xtra game stats to count for kids now but not for kids that played X number of years ago. They know the stats so add them in,Should the stats matter, then? NFL preseason stats don't count.
Yeah, it's weird. It's why I sometimes like to look at stats per game when comparing players. It's a little like comparing Jim Brown's stats in the 12 game era to this 16 or 17 game era. I'm glad Barkley sat out. Breaking the rushing record would've felt a little hollow in a 17th game. Then again, Dickerson breaking OJ's record that he got in 14 games could be viewed as hollow too. What I don't get is why the NCAA allows all these xtra game stats to count for kids now but not for kids that played X number of years ago. Its like MLB has changed stats over the years.
Some kid will play 13 games by playing Hawaii then a Conf title then 4 playoff games and end up with 18 games soon.
Kyle would have thrown for 6600 yds given that.
Mike Norvell says "Hold my beer." Your point is well put, but this year Norvell wins the crown.Cristobal is a terrible coach. Without Cam Ward they will be back to 6-6 Miami next year. Nobody does less with more talent than the U.
