CCSU Game Thread...

He led FBS in kick return yards last year so I think he's alright after a full year in the program. Just wish he could maybe add an extra inch or 2 with the 20 lbs he's going to put on in the next 3 years.

But isn't kick return yards a misleading stat? We had the worst scoring defense in the ACC last year so we returned lots of kickoffs.

These guys are like the exact opposite of LeVeon Bell.. Close eyes and run straight ahead.
I think that is what Strickland does. Many of his runs there are holes off tackle, and he runs right into the tackle

That's a deceiving stat. I'm sure he came close to returning more kicks than anyone else in the FBS. Yards per return are much more telling.

Definitely is if you think its a positive thing, but it also indicates that he returned a crapload of kicks last year as a very tiny fella.

Just saying that the sheer number of kicks he returned at that size last year indicates that it shouldn't be an issue going forward.

Was the entire 2016 season by design?

This is a completely new OL. Is run blocking a concern? Yes. Is pass blocking a concern? Yes. We are hoping the OL gels as the season gets deeper.

The run offense wasn't terrible as we got into 21-0. Then we got very vanilla with a lot of dives. We aren't gonna be a 200 yard rushing offense. We just need to run enough to get safeties off the LOS.

"Syracuse challenges the call on the field."

"Before the challenge, the ruling on the field is under further review."

Not sure I've heard that sequence before.

Looks like we didnt lose a TO lol

Or 7 win season with this defense. D has allowed 146 yards through 3 quarters.

I dunno man, how can you extrapolate the results against a team that went 2-9 in the FCS last year into 6 more wins against our brutal schedule?

Honestly tonight means nothing. We have a tough game next week against a solid MTSU team. If we can hold them under 400 yards of offense and win by 14+ points I will be very happy.
