Game Info: Sept 13th, Kickoff time: TBD
I plan to buy up to 50 or so tickets. I expect tickets will cost approximately $10-15 each. Parking should be $10 or less. Tailgate menu dependent on kickoff time. Our tix will save us $15-20 per ticket over what SU will charge.

CONOPS: I plan to travel with several cars in a caravan. We will start in Syracuse and make a quick stop in Rochester. The stops will enable fans to park cars overnight and carpool over. We will cross at Niagara Falls and cut across Canada. Expect at least 1 night at a motel and probably 2 nights. The trip from Syracuse will be 7 3/4 hrs plus stops. CMU fans expect an early/mid afternoon kickoff. If that is the case we will leave 2-3pm from Syracuse and Rochester (Henrietta) 75 mins later and make it to Mt. Pleasant or nearby. Some will I know will want to leave after the game for home...others will stay and play a golf course or casino on the way back on Sat or Sun.

Upstate NY fans: How many tix? Interested in caravan and are you leaving from Syracuse or Rochester?

Midwest fans: How many tix do you require? and what tailgate gear can you bring?

Route of drive: http://goo.gl/maps/kfJoO

Most Important: If you drive through Canada you need either a Passport or an enhanced drivers license.

We plan to rollout NLT 0750 on Saturday. We should be at the gate by 0855. CMU fans told me they open the lots exactly 3 hours prior.

Just trying to get an informal interest poll going.

I am in. I am pro caravan if there is an opportunity to stop and play golf, preferably near London at Forest City National. If no one wants to golf, I will probably caravan anyway...

I'm in. Would be interested in Caravan or carpool.

Tom, I don't golf, so if we have to stop, there's a craft brewery in Mt Pleasant I'd like to go to. I'll check to see if there's any ginger ale on the menu.

Don't worry..we'll figure out a golf car, and one with folks that want to get back ASAP. If people want to leave earlier on Friday...we might be able to get a beer Friday night at the Brew Pub.

Note to Me: Chuck B. from L'pool in for 2 tix.

We have enough interest for a group rate buy of tickets...if we get to 50 great but 25 is okay too.
Any other Syracuse or Rochester fans interested? Please chime in. I'd really like to get a couple car caravan organized. Syracuse guys should be able to work at least half a day on Friday.

Just booked my flight...arriving in Syracuse on Thursday around 11:45pm. I'll have a rental car and can drive. I hope to leave Syracuse by 2-3pm on Friday. My goal is to make it least to Port Huron, MI on the Canadian Border (6hrs including a quick dinner stop). From Port Huron it is 2 1/4 hrs to CMU.

Oh man, really tempted by this but I can't really commit right now (baby coming later in July, the Mrs. might object to a September trip). If I end up coming I'd fly in and meet people for the tailgate and game. The ticket looks cheap enough I'm happy to buy one and add it to the pot if anyone needs it later though, Mark.

No worries...if you come up to visit relatives then we can work something out. You are welcomed to ride along as we plan to stop in Rochester (either Webster or Henrietta).

I'd probably just fly straight to Michigan actually. I don't think I would be able to talk the fam in to a trip like last time.

Bump

Let me know if there is any more interest. I do have enough to get the cheap group rate. We have roughly 20-25 right now. I'd love to get this to closer to 50 to have a sizable enough group to start a "Let's Go Orange" chant for those watching at home to get a Warm Fuzzy and feel part of the game despite letting things like family and job get in the way of this road trip. The nerve!

Update...I'll buy about 5 more tickets than committed for right now. We have about 20 so far...so we are at 25. I'll see if they can get us a block for 50 seats and tell them we are definitely good for 25.

We should know the kickoff time within 2 months according to MattSarz.

Anyways please firm up your numbers. Dnyr85 please PM your name, address, email and cell phone. I'll return the same.

I'm expecting the tickets to be no more than $15 or so each. Parking is $10...you are not going to see Syracuse play for cheaper than this. If you have a few maybes just count them...you don't have much capital at risk.

As always if you buy 4 tickets and only need 2, etc...I've had great luck in getting you a buyer late in the game...I think I'm running at 100% of those who let me know.

UPDATE: April 14th: I called CMU...they don't have pricing yet. The Group tickets will not be available until early June to purchase. So continue to refine your numbers. I have everyone's contact info but Dnyr85's. Dnyr85 please PM your info. Thx

I'm in for two. I graduated from CMU. Gotta go back and have a beer at the Flamingo Lounge AKA "The Bird".

Actually, put me in for 2 as well. Sounds like I may be able to get PapainGrotto to come along too.

Info sent, sorry for the delay.

whats the hotel/motel situation look like, if I went wouldn't know till like a month or two out from the game?
They have some motels...also a casino like 10 miles north. You might consider staying east of town though...like Port Huron, MI. Depending on the kickoff time...you might stay there Friday and Saturday and drive to the game from the motel. Just a thought.
