Class of 2026 CG Ryan Moesch (NY) Offered

These are all systems taught by coaches to the players. The "unselfishness" is because guys are wide open because the system got them wide open. We will be playing the same offensive system we did under JAB and Red.
If we run the same stale and stagnant offense that we did under late-era JB and Red, Gmac will not last long in this job. Hope that’s not the case. We need new ideas and a new vision. I thought that’s why Daly was brought in—to revamp the offense with more motion, off ball screens, and cuts to the basket, and then help us install it and identify the players that can execute the system.

prob touched on somewhere in this thread but don't have time to look - do we think it's possible gmac sees Moesch as himself as a freshman, and believes he can come in and run the point from day 1, splitting time with a lower-tier PG like Dual (a la gmac splitting time with Edelin)?

I don’t think so. We have been linked to se PGs in the portal.

The way things are shaping up, I doubt there will be money for another PG though so I think Ryan will be the backup.

We will see soon as the portal soap opera continues.

We’re still in the appetizer portion, but the main course portion is coming at any moment now. Could be this afternoon, the weekend, or early next week.

If that's the case, Gerry is getting fired after one year

I really hope not.

Maybe a chance, but idk what we're spending all of our NIL on if not a pretty high-end PG. Pretty much any starting C is going to be expensive, and I imagine we're paying White a decent amount to come back, but the rest of the roster that we currently have probably isn't all that expensive and the wing spots likely mostly spoken for.

I don't think it's impossible that Moesch is good as a freshman but I hope we aren't counting on it with no real answer if he's not ready (and maybe someone like Dual is the answer, idk).

Counting on Moesch and Euro as starting backcourt is a fireable offense.

No thank you.

Doubt it. Feels like our commits are going to come out of nowhere. Dasher even posted last night it was radio silent. That’s what happened with Euro and Aussie guy. Doty was easy, but we knew that before.

Gerry played half PG and SG in 2003 with Edelin playing the other half of the point. I don't think there is any doubt that we spend a lot of money bringing in at least one more stud guard and its likely a PG, where Moesch plays mainly back-up PG minutes. GMac may have saw him starting for Siena but that surely won't be a given at SU. And i don't think @pear31 was implying he would solely be the staring PG considering his Edelin comment. But i guess if Moesch somehow comes in playing really well similar to GMac, he can play a bit more minutes at the PG and bump the star PG to SG a bit. Moesch is likely too small to play SG. He is shorter than GMac.

Does GMac think Moesch is that good that he brings in a stud Combo Guard instead, that can play point but may swing to the SG spot as well? Not sure but I think we need to KNOW we have a stud PG.

Did you watch any Siena basketball at all?
I guess this is a “ Don’t blame him…..he didn’t know.”
