His form on his shot looks weird like his hand is on top of the ball. Is it just me? I'm sure it works for him in HS, but that's the kind of thing that gets corrected in high D1. Not everyone can adapt to a new form.

If SU is even seriously considering offering this kid they are clueless. Just try to picture him playing against teams like Duke. Save the money for NIL.

The best pure shooters to ever play for Syracuse in order would be
Marty
G
Kid
Buddy.
If this kid is a natural shooter there isn't anyone on the current staff that should do anything to his shot. Great shooters will figure it out. 99% of the time some coach who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn ends up screwing up a pure shooter.
The only coach we've ever had who could help would have been G.

List of Syracuse Orange basketball career leaders in three point shooting percentage.

No disrespect to either Money Monroe or Matt Roe, but -
* The 3pt shot was much shorter then.
* And it was new, and an anomaly, so teams didn’t have any strategy to defend specifically against it, being much more focused on guarding the rim.

Andy Rautins his last two years was money.
No one could set his feet off the curl quite like him. The 6th OT game he hit big shot after big shot on the move.
Jimmy Lee was the best no matter what JB might say. Had there been a 3 point lime back then he would have averaged 25+ a game.
He was money at the free throw line unlike many of the shooters we have had including Marty.

Jimmy was great. Sweet D as well and Bug actually had a decent J. I'm partial to Marty as I played years of ball against him. Pick up, horse you name it we played it. Bunch of guys who just loved ball. We used to skip school off season in the spring to play pick up. Anyway Jimmy was a great shooter and Mike was a grinder.
I hope this year is rock bottom and we start to come back.
I also hope Red finds some shooters. This year's team has to be the worst shooting team ever. Kids can't hit anything including foul shots it's really pathetic.

I don’t recall Bug being that great of an outside shooter, he was also a horrible free throw shooter. He would make the occasional open 12-15 footer but I just don’t remember him being a threat from deep.

Glad there are still people around who remember Joel saying about Mike Lee, or Mark Wadach climbing the invisible ladder to outrebound taller opponents.
Those were fun times.

On Bug, I read that at the final four shoot around he was wearing sunglasses. A couple Kentucky guys were watching and one asked who the dude with sunglasses was. The other watched Bug miss a couple| badly and said “I don’t know, maybe Stevie Wonder”.
