Class of 2026 CG Ryan Moesch (NY) to Siena

I don't understand how a 4-star only has one major college offer, the Friars. I would think a 4-star would have a ton more. Don't get it. What gives?

I watched some of his game in the Salty City ProAm this summer. He's definitely an athlete, but that shot form has a ton of risk. He's very quick which can mitigate some physicality issues, but right now I guess I don't see it. I hope he ends up in d1 even if Cuse stashes him for a bit, because otherwise I'd be worried about him going to Hobart to play with his brother.

There's a 4 star that just committed to Liberty yesterday. With the portal freshmen are not as nearly in demand at major conference schools as they have been in the past.

Don't follow the prep recruiting super close since the portal dominates but seeing the Syracuse.com story that there's a four star out of Chittenango and he's not locked up in Orange tells you how much the program has fallen. I don't care if he's better or worse than anyone on the roster. Just sign him and he can transfer to Siena or LeMoyne if he can't cut it. It took Fran Brown a weekend to lock down CBA. We need local kids on the roster. The team needs a connection to the community more than ever in the portal era. We need to be the first choice for any kid growing up 150 miles from the dome.
There is a big difference in recruiting for Fball than there is for Bball. If you cant figure that out I dont know what i can say.
For 1, our Bball coaches are connected to all local high schools which some of our former Fball coaches were not.
I am a huge Ryan Moesch fan and he is a borderline Cuse player. Id sign him up but I will trust the people in charge that have actual credentials to make those decisions.
For the most part players like this will end up at Siena instead of P5 based on modern factors... do well and then move on to Syracuse. Seems reasonable.
In his shoes... I would go to Siena over Providence without a doubt.
Without Gmac bias, Siena is clearly primed to be battling for conference championships.
& Ryan will be playing as a freshman.
Providence would be much more of a toss of the dice.

I hope he chooses Siena. He reminds me of Reid Ducharme who we were correct on not actively pursuing as he was a borderline power conference player. If Reid would have started out at a program comparable to Siena and continued to grow his game, he would now be attractive to a power conference team.

Ducharme has been at Siena since last season playing spot minutes there. His freshman year at Xavier didn’t count towards his eligibility and he’s just a redshirt sophomore at Siena currently.

Word on the street 200k NIL package and a car. GMac getting the ball rolling out in Albany

At least Siena is finally asserting themselves. They have so many natural advantages over the other MAAC schedules (market, fan base, arena...) Should just be a battle between them and Iona for conference titles every year.

Much rather have this than the kid going to Wake or something and nailing 7 3s against us.
It's true, they play in a real college arena, most MAAC schools play in glorified gyms, even Iona.

I will be looking forward to watching a fellow Chittenangoan play for Gerry. I honestly think he is gonna kill it there.
Very smart and crafty & a lock P5 in a couple.
Exciting player.
