Challenge: state a positive from SU in NYC this week

We are 8-3 and our three loses all came away from home to 2 CFP teams and 1 ACC Division champion

Basketball team has not been at full strength (but will be soon) and JB is still the coach

Good point

Despite the loss, we’ve still successfully converted/maintained 3 families into Orange fans (ranging from obsessed to casual). For the last 4 games we’ve had a full house of friends, food, alcohol, and football. Love it.

My misery wasn't over. I tuned into the stream of the game between my other alma mater, Cicero-North Syracuse vs. the "Little Irish" of Rochester Aquinas in the state AA semi-finals. The Northstars were up 7-0 when i tuned in. They are now down 7-28 in the third period. On top of that, the announcers are calling my school "Cicero North".

just got home from the fball game. sat in the family section and met many family members of current team. wonder people.

also, my 8yo pretty much picked up a cute 22yo recent SU graduate. kid's got more game than we did today.

I’m still alive, and there might be a pretty cool reason to pick up a copy of the post standard this week. keep ya posted.

I’m sitting in my room, just crushed. Literally not even in the mood to drink.

Still sucks. For many of us, Syracuse's success is the highlight of our lives.

We identified that we aren't as good as we thought so we can lower expectations!

True, the #12 ranking made the casual fan look and say, wow, what a matchup. Fact is, we weren't the #12 team in the country. We just need to finish strong with a tough game in chestnut hill.

You keep saying we’re not the #12 team, so where would you put us?

I think we’re absolutely a top 15ish caliber team and hopefully prove it next week and in our bowl game.

You think UCF/UF/PSU/ISU/Texas etc are all better than us? ...because those are all the teams ranked around us going into this week.

Mets 3rd baseman Todd Frazier was identified as a Cuse fan!

And a knowledgable enough fan to make me wonder if he’s one of us here on syracusefan.com.

He even knew he didn’t want to meet JB after the game if they didn’t win.

I see a lot of posts tonight saying we aren't the #12 team in the country but who behind us is better? There's a big drop off after the top 4 or 5 teams. We've shown that we can beat or hang with just about anyone this year and we are making steady improvement. ND is really good and could do this to any of our peer teams. They knew we were a legit threat and rose to the occasion. That's what great teams do.

We will be behind all three-loss P5 teams in ranking.

I had a blast meeting you though. Crazy we saw each other all three days, too. You ever need a place to crash in Utah, I'm around.

Also shout out to Oakland, OburgCuse, nycfan , JackBauer44 and Consigliere (ran into and recognized Friday night at MSG). Was great meeting people from the board in person. I spend a lot of my life on this message board and it's always cool getting to meet people in person.

Challenge: Name a positive from the SU basketball and football games in NYC this week. It can anything at all. Personal experience or team/game observation. Only rule is it has to be a positive statement.

Go!

Nobody got arrested???!
Basketball only’s lost twice as many games

Nobody got arrested.
