i still want to see chanc3e on the team next year, if he is actually healthy
But they do matter and it's certainly not a "distraction".
Sports is what keeps many young people engaged with their academics. Sports provides them opportunities to play on club, school and collegiate teams. Sports provides an opportunity to travel, experience new cultures, to mature, to learn, to create lifelong friendships, and to develop both teamwork and leadership skills.
I'm not trying to offend, but I find that kind of "sports don't matter" comment to be trite. Yeah, we know breathing is more important that playing basketball. That's not a valuable insight.
But if the goal of playing basketball again is what's keeping Chance motivated to overcome whatever he's dealing with right now, then I think sports is actually damn important.
Don't think Red had much to do with landing Freeman, however if he doesn't hire Brenden Straughn, Freeman would have gone elsewhere. When Red first got hired, we landed [in rapid succession]:
At a time when our program wasn't recruiting at the same level as before, it seemed like early evidence to suggest that Red was a stud recruiter.
- JJ, who was a former McDonald's All American
- Chance Westry, who was a highly rated recruit who landed at Auburn
- Donnie Freeman, a future McDonald's All American
It's a shame that we have gotten no return [essentially] from Chance in two years, and that he hasn't been able to play in the three years that he's been part of college basketball. His body betrayed him.

I'm over it. I cant deal with another season of cloak and dagger.i still want to see chanc3e on the team next year, if he is actually healthy
Lets just hope he gets better. If being on the team is helping him then he should stay on the team. Period. His well being is all that matters.I'm over it. I cant deal with another season of cloak and dagger.
Let it go. You take my comments too literally. Smoke one. Please. But they do matter and it's certainly not a "distraction".

Exactly. Who gives a . Everything happens as it’s supposed to.Sports matter a lot more to the players and the coaches than to us.
Yes or we don't get Donnie or probably White.Does he get credit for hiring Straughn?
