Chris Bell transferring to Cal

Did three things well and everything else poorly. His three things
1) wide open shot only
2) chase from behind block
3) make my mom swoon bc he was so “cute”
Literally not a part of the rest of his game that had any semblance of a winning player. No handle. No rebounds. No passing. No screens set or running through them to get open. No respect for officials. No ability to be a good teammate unless he was on fire shooting. But again, my mom thought he was very handsome and made me stop complaining. My mom is 79.

Even though he really doesn't fit on this year's team, I still kind of miss Chris Bell. By all accounts he seemed like a good kid, and he was the last guy on the team that JB got to coach. I really hope he kills it at Cal except for when we play them. In this day and age, 3 years with Syracuse is a lifetime and he'll always be orange.

I always tried to give him the benefit of the doubt since he was actually loyal to Syracuse but his play and attitude always ruined it for me. Happy that he found a better spot for himself

Very one dimensional -- could at times be a strong shooter, but rarely did anything else. Didn't rebound nor defend a lick, which was a bigger black mark, given that he was a solid athlete. And his ballhandling sucked.

And he didn't hit consistently enough from outside to offset the other stuff. He was like a poor man's James Southerland. Wasn't sad to see him go, don't wish him any ill will.

But I will dread playing Cal. Could totally envision him going off for 6 threes or something.

He's shooting 15% from 3 so far this year or something like that. My first thought was, I hope we aren't playing Cal when that particular regression to the mean takes place.

The thing I have always liked about Bell is, his release is so quick there isnt much you can do to stop him from hitting 3's when he is hot. Same reason we are all scared to play against him as an opponent.

Same for me. I blame him and Benny for alot of the player locker room issues on the team over the last few years. Pouting and arguing with refs and spitting on the floor and yawning on the bench. Thats toxic plague stuff to the whole team.

Someone can correct me but the bench now is standing the final 2-4 mins of the half and getting into the game. The whole team top to bottom just doesn’t have a weak link right now and that includes the bench. Last year we had multiple guys starting that couldn’t play on both ends of the court.
