Chris Bleich Returning in 2023

Very experienced lineman. I’ll take all of those we can get.
Exactly. Some automatically think new means better. I will take the experienced guy over guys that are unproven. If the younger guys are that good it shouldn't be a problem getting on the field in some compacity. The staff put one of their best young lineman at HB and everyone talked about how bad he was this year. It goes to show that development comes at different rates.

Also bleich is hopefully another year healthier Post all those surgeries. He comes from a great family and he’s an easy guy to root for. More experienced depth isn’t bad.

To me the value of Bleich coming back is 100 percent on if he comes into camp 100 percent healthy. He lost a ton of reps this past camp season and I think that and his up/down health resulted in lower end play. A fully healthy Bleich should translate as a plus add to the line which is a good start for 2023.

Agree. Very good news.

As of right now, this is how I see the OL going into 2023.

LT Cruz
LG Ellis
C Ilaoa
RG Bleich
RT Vetterello

That group should be somewhere in the middle of the ACC in terms of OLs. Would love to get a prototype experienced OT and a prototype experienced C to add to the mix.

Yes - we desperately need a higher quality C. If we had that guy this year (Mackey type) and didn’t need to play Vett there I think the line play would have been dramatically better.

Great news, if just for the funny/awkward interviews...But in all seriousness, experienced linemen can often be a great equalizer against more talented teams. Hope this starts a trend w/ other guys choosing to return.

If Ellis comes in a bit lighter, Bleich finally is healthy, and Vetterello gets to play his best position, that's 3/5 of a good line.
Get a good center from the portal, and we could have a good line.

Good news if Chris is healthy. We need 8 quality linemen AT LEAST to begin the season.
If Chris wants to play at the next level, he will want to( and believes he can) have a standout season.

No Moeolo?

I know Bleich was getting some reps at C in August. Would like that experiment to continue in the spring. If Vett comes back and lines up at RT opposite Cruz with Ellis at LG, you have an 80% baseline for a starting O Line. Plug in Bradford or the JC kid at RG and let the rest of the roster battle to win a spot away from those five.
