Clemson Attendance

The local casuals stink...lets all just say it. Horrible sports fans. The local causals make up a majority of the town.
Sonny, you need to watch your mouth. Before you were even a glimmer of hope in your mommy and daddy’s eyes, we local casual fans, as you call us, were going to Archbold sitting on cold concrete steps during fall rains and cold winter snows to watch games. Now, most of us in our late 70s and 80s have many reasons we don’t go to the Dome. One reason is bad hips and knees that can’t climb the hills to the Dome and the steps in the Dome to our seats.

So no, I won’t say “casual fans stink.”

Let’s respect others for whatever their reasons.

You sound more like the retired diehard variety.

He’s talking about locals who attend as a social affair and can’t name 3 players

String together a few winning seasons and watch the dome fill up. If every game is like the Wake game attendance wise, that would be great. That’s a doable goal IMO.

Ya, I'm a diehard retired old fart that has lived long enough to remember when respect was common. Then he should have said that he was talking about those that attend as social affairs. Lumping everyone into a group for whatever reason is never smart. Now it's time for my nap.

My tickets sold this afternoon, but I had lowered the price a bit last night to be competitive. Would rather have some money than no money. Still slightly above value. Every week I have made a little on them. But most of all fannies in my seats.

I think we should start tomorrow’s game off during the Kick off with a “let’s go orange” chant.

Show Clemson whose bossss

No disrespect sir. You most certainly arent a causal fan and that post wasn’t directed to you. It’s the ones that expect 10 win seasons before they would even think to shell out 20 bucks for a ticket (I don’t want to hear COVID restrictions, it’s been like this). This team is exciting and Clemson is in town for Friday night. Sadly those kids won’t get the support they deserve.

I mean, is he wrong? I appreciate what you are saying but the new generation of Syracuse fan, isn’t great. Not entirely their fault, the product hasn’t been great but it is what it is. Fans like you have gone the way of the Dodo.

I never get the mentality that people are upset that others aren't as big fans as them. Should others be frustrated that you don't attend events that interest them more? As long as they're not bothering me, people can do and go (or not do and not go) as they please.

Disappointing, but I don't know what people expect when we lose games and still expect people to show up. 2 or 3 Dino decisions have cost this team immensely, and that results in absolutely no hype for the team. This could have been a 45k plus crowd if we have 2 of those losses back. The blame lies with Dino, not the casual fans. Fans want to see your team win, not "try hard and come away with a close loss"

Yup. If we're 5-1 coming into this, this is close to a sell out. The "casual fans," look at the record, and say, "typical Syracuse, they suck."

COVID restrictions are absolutely a deterrent. I took two children last week. Because of my schedule had to go rapid test route and drive 40 minutes one way to get the rapid tests on Saturday morning. $75 a piece.

Then had to drive 30 minutes in the other direction to the Dome. Total drive time 2:20. $150 without counting gas/tickets/food just to get there and in the Dome. My entire Saturday was shot.

I’m willing to do that. I’m pretty confident a large contingent of our fan base is not.
