Clemson opens -16.5 over Cuse…..

The home team. On whatever game he's broadcasting. Listen to how much more he gets excited when the home team scores.
I guess I'm struggling to understand what you think would motivate a broadcaster of a televised game to be a "homer" on every game. This must really annoy Jet fans when they are on the road.

I think it annoys fans of all road teams when announcers do that. I have noticed there are others that do it also. Maybe more with college games. I haven't noticed it much in broadcasts of NFL games. Those are usually the better announcers. I've wondered why it happens. Maybe the announcer gets caught up with the cheering of the home crowd. I'm not sure it's always done consciously. I did notice in the Syracuse-Tennessee game that Wischusen seemed more exitable when Tennessee had a positive play.

In fairness to Wischusen, Tennessee was executing very exciting plays.

IDK. I think sometimes there is confirmation bias at play - we "hear" what we are expecting to hear. I'll bet if you polled Vols fans you would find more than a few who felt Bob W - the Newark, NJ guy and voice of a NYS team - was pulling too hard for SU to make a comeback.

Occam's razor - He's just doing his job.

Is this us assuming Clemson is a man?
in the box then don't ya know ?

It's timestamped but who knows if that'll work. Nice short mention of the Syracuse Clemson game starts at 3:40

This clearly says two things:

(1) we have to protect better - everyone sees it on tape that we are vulnerable; and

(2) we have to run the ball better, so they can't put us in passing situations and bring the house.
I’m also inferring from this that we need to blitz more.

Klubnik was better last year, and was blitzed less last year.

More Blitzy = Less Passy for Klubber.

Robinson better dial it up.

I’m worried that the increased aggression during Colgate was Robinson feeling confident that our dbs could cover Colgates(!) wide receivers and that he’ll revert to playing super soft and rushing 3.
You might be right, but I really hope you're wrong! Please let it be that Fran decided enough is enough and let's be more aggressive. He's a smart guy. He HAS to see that what we are doing is not effective.

Georgia Tech had a few positive plays running the QB draw. I know Steve Angeli isn't Haynes King running the ball, but we might be able to run some similar plays to slow down or gash the Clemson rush.

clemson fans are saying the exact same thing

The main issue is that we seem to struggle to have guys one the 1-1 battles when blitzing, unless they come clean, we still can't get home

We don't even bother to run stunts. Our DL just bull rush straight ahead and they get handled fairly easily.

Every Tennessee rush was stunting and this created some gaps the backers (or DL) went through untouched.

I’m sure that has something to do with the fact that Dale Williams has no clue how to coach pass pro.

Quite the opposite. They're bringing extra bodies for a reason.

The main struggle has been correctly blocking stunts on a 4 man rush and/or then picking up a delayed blitz. I attribute this to new guys still developing chemistry, but additionally our backs don't help much.

When you're reading corner blitz you need to put the rb on that side to either block it or swing pass it. When we go empty we're seeing blitzes to so the ball needs to come out quick, patterns need to be short.

If you only throw short passes when you see blizt that makes life easy on the D. They just start jumping routes and only have to play well for 1-2 secs. Thats what Pitt did last year.

We need to hold up, slide protection, or just make good blocks often enough we can force the D to limit so of the all out blitz we are seeing,

For now just dont lose the 4 man rush battles to mental mistakes.
