Club Dart Party December 18th

They are hopeful to hear next week. At least one well connected person thinks the odds might be as good as 50/50.

Quick take - for being done on 10 days notice, excellent event. Food was really good, open bar I’m guessing underwritten by Meirs Creek, they didn’t skimp.

This was not a pizza and wings with Labatts and Bud light, crap wine, and bottom shelf liquor. And well staffed.

JW made a nice speech, and Fran talked up the full staff, including Hicks getting a lot of love.

Dan Conley was there, looks great, and it looks like fences were mended. Jason Poles, Turnell Sims, Deon Maddox also there for the old guard.

Got to hang with DCuse which is always great.

Of the players, all you would expect, nothing definitive on McCord.

Diggs was at the party, didn’t see him at practice. Barron, Wax, LQA, McCord, OG, Pena, JRS, Meeks were full goes.

Rumour has it a really good PK is signing on.

Thanks for the report!

Awesome write up. That UCF kicker that entered the portal was really intriguing.

Great night. Practice from 5:00-6:00 was fun. Fran came over to the sideline and shook our hands.

I know shell drills are a little misleading but my god McCord was throwing DARTS all over. At this point he’s an NFL QB pitching pigskins on a college field. Oh and Meeks hasn’t dropped a contested ball in like 5 months. Darrell Gill looked spectacular as well. JRS is definitely back to 100%. Mercy.

Kennedy and Oh were both hitting 55 yard field goals. Keep in mind it’s inside with no pass rush.

Party at the new City center was immaculate. They had all the great Meier’s creek beers on tap as well as wine and great cocktails.

The silent auction items included signed jerseys, signed gloves, and a great white signed helmet from the whole team

Food included prime rib sliders, lobster roll sliders , bacon wrapped scallops and a huge variety of passed hors douvres. There was decadent dessert station with macaroons and other assorted cookies. That was the first thing Fran grabbed upon arrival.

Players and coaches were so engaging. My favorite time was with Coach Nixon. He’s so excited his daughter is transferring here for soccer from Kentucky. His face was beaming. He said Will is coming along well. He called Oronde a freak.

Fran introduced EVERY SINGLE assistant. There were a lot. I think the Assistant to the assistant to the secondary coach got a shout out.

Fran has so much passion. He made it very clear. “You want Trebor Peña back here? Well in 2024 it takes MONEY. It’s just the reality of where we are “

Overall a very special night. The buzz around this program is palpable. The coaches know they are part of something big. What a great way to spend my first NIL money. Can’t wait for next year.
