Coach K's "Amazing" Press Conference

If only our contingent of SU fans at the game had stormed the court.
Difficult to storm the floor when except for the family & friends seated behind the Syracuse bench the rest of us SU fans were scattered all over the arena 2,3 or 4 per section. Cameron is a wonderful.....I mean AMAZING....venue for a basketball game but keeping this bandbox at 9000 seats locks out the visiting team from any decent representation of fans. Then to pride themselves on being a very tough place to play is a bit funny when you practically ensure nearly no fans from the visiting team can get in. Let me use that word one more time.....AMAZING!! I do want to add every single Duke fan and person we talked with, asked questions of or just passed along the way, was nothing but top shelf friendly, gracious and congratulated us for the good game.

2028 Duke pg perhaps.

Fresh off a championship, really?
I can understand doing it if theres a huge advantage but when you shoot 37% at home and 27% from three(37 attempts) and your defense is about 60% of what it was in the first half, and giving up 26 offensive rebounds, and only forcing 8 turnovers while letting your opponent shoot 47% from three. Gbinije was in foul trouble for cuse first half nobody for duke all game. gtfooh. howbout telling it like it is, like JB would?
Hope the head official mails that to K tomorrow morning.

Atleast give credit to syraucse where its due. We are a good team and won a hard earned game.

I got more to add to this.
Duke was 10-37 from three we were 11-23.
So lets factor that out saying duke was 10-23 even remotely close to us. That leaves them with 14 failed possessions.
On top of that we had 71 fg attempts overall duke had 62 we were equal in freetrhow attempts. Add those 9.
14+9 =23.
Now lets add in 8 more offensive rebounds as we beat them 26-18 so add 8 more putting us at 31.
now defenisve rebounds they beat us by one but we beat them by 1 less turnover.

That leaves us at 31.
That is 31 possessions way more then enough to warrant the 2-3 more calls hes begging for.
We were the better team tonight.
A big reason our fg attempts were so low was because we had 2-3 tips on the same rebound some possessions.

Love K, but He should have known those stats immediately after the game.
I am chalking this up as he was overzealous because of Plumlee playing amazing.

And this is why I have no problem with Boeheim going Captain Insane-O against them a few years back.

Krzyzewski used the word "amazing" nine times while describing the end of the game in his postgame news conference. In the locker room afterward, Jones showed off a scratch shaped like a human mouth on his left hand that he said he acquired on that play.

No, buddy, that scratch is shaped like a vagina. It's symbolic.

That is unbelievable so he wants people to believe that he was being chewed on in those eternal last 2 seconds. If he didn't bite himself, I bet someone else had a pretty sore mouth/loose teeth from him smacking someone. Below you can watch that last play and SU players just gnawing away at poor Jones all the way down the court.

OK, lets put this in perspective. It IS amazing. I mean, be honest, how many of you thought the refs would allow Syracuse to win a 1 possession game at Cameron? Especially when they had a chance to call something, anything. I am just as amazed as K. It must be shocking to get the special treatment they get for decades -- and then for it not be there? Jarring, I am sure.

You're right--it IS amazing. Because two years ago, the refs intervened to snatch a potential victory from us on a bogus secondary offensive foul call on a made bucket by CJ Fair. So you can understand K's confusion about not getting intervention again to help them overcome last night's two point deficit.

Teams have literally been getting raped by lopsided officiating at Cameron indoor stadium for decades. And he wants to whine about a close non-call that didn't go his way?

Wrong vid. K is complaining about the play on the missed Duke shot where Mali came up with the ball.

I loved what Cooney had to say about that.

"I don't know who shot it,'' Cooney said. "It was one of those times when you're just in the moment. The shot went up and everyone was just trying to get the ball. It was just a brawl. Malachi was a man and ended up with the ball. It won us the game.''
The PS has video. This confirms that in addition to being a bad basketball player, Jones is a bad person and a liar. There are no mouths anywhere near his arm on that play.

It is a 50-50 ball. No one is going to call it a foul, especially not at the end of the game. The only difference between what Malachi and Jones do is that Jones acted like he bounced against a hot stove, and appeared more interested in currying favor with the refs than in getting the ball.

Emphasis on "decades". This is why I hate Duke.

LOL!!! Just a bunch of drama queens like their coach K!!!!

this along with the no handshake should be all over Sportscenter. Wait, it's not? I'm shocked. If it had been Boeheim it would have been the lead story.

Excellent win last night, congratulations!

Glad someone else has noted this... the epitome of no class to that Rat Faced, Cheese Eating Sona<REDACTED>!

Puke people have always been emotional. This when LSU bounced senior JJ Dick and his rat coach out the tourny. Thank you Big Baby and others. And now that 'Cuse is in the ACC, here's to more pics of disappoiment from Puke.

last night I thought it was our foul. But after watching it from this angle there was definitely no foul. It's two guys going for a loose ball and running into each other. nobody had possession. no call was the right call.

the only reason crybaby thinks it's a foul is because one of his soft players flails his arms like a wussy.

(i was way more 'amazed' at the offensive foul called on MG when both players were in the air even though the dukie was inside the circle)

I guess Vitale didn't think we wanted the ball there. He just assumed we were going to let Duke have the ball and all we were trying to do is foul him.

Oh Lord

Cheers,
Neil

I think K probably went back and looked at the play later and realized it was a good no-call. Can't single out one player who was the "fouler" in a play like that. Both had equal rights to the ball and space. There was contact but not foul...unless they want to be like the NFL and call off-setting penalties.

At least he admitted that Duke had been "rewarded" a lot in previous years.

It's nearly impossible to corral a loose ball when you are throwing your arms up in the air trying to draw a phantom foul.

Mali went for the ball, and got it.
Jones went for the call, and got nada.

What I see is Roberson with position and a hand on the rebound, then Plumlee making a play on his arms and shoulders (rather than the ball).

Basketball games shouldn't be won or lost on rugby scrums, but the refs set the table by ignoring the obvious foul on the rebound, then swallowed their whistles when Jones flopped like a wiener.

Scoop told us years ago that the players were not getting enough food.

Its great, I remember the Duke players making fun of JB in the aftermath of the Coat game......fair enough, and JB actions afterward were less then a shining example, but JB never intentionally skipped opponent players in the hand shake line, NEVER. Kiss my ass Duke.
