Spokane and Seattle are like two different countries.Gonzaga is also in Washington and they did pretty well during the same time. Hop owns that record.

Yep. Glad you enjoyed his class. He's friend of mine and honestly just a great guy always has beenAgree with everything you said, seeing it first hand as a student (on and off the court), I can’t believe he hasn’t moved up. But maybe he just likes Oswego and where he’s at![]()
If this is the deep levels you have to go to to help support Hopkins, it should tell you everything you need to know.Spokane and Seattle are like two different countries.
I’m probably one of the younger people on this board, but I actually just had him as my professor for a class at SUNY Oswego lol. He’s a great guy, very knowledgeable about what he does, and just got his 300th win at Oswego as HC, so no doubt he can coach and is a winner!
You didn't include the names for that. That is what I was looking for. I must admit, I didn't bother looking at the poll because well, they don't mean much to me. Although I would love to know the why they chose Hopkins. Is it a vote against BH or a vote for Hopkins. I said that I don't think much of BH because of his comments to Trey Autry but I would still "vote" for him as our head coach vs Hopkins or Gerry. Maybe those voting for Hopkins would change their vote to a more, how to put this, a better candidate. Thx for the researchI never even said anything about people saying they’d specifically “want gmac or hopkins”, I said people that rationalize it, which there is plentiful.
Anyways, If you are genuinely saying you haven’t seen people saying they’d be okay, and support it I really don’t know how honest this conversation can be. It took me longer to crop these pictures than it did to find find multiple examples(3 minutes btw).some of which you were engaged with. There’s a poll asking if we’d be okay with hopkins as HC and 40+ voted yes. So by every definition possible, “they’re on this board”. We have had multiple people in this thread say it.
Absolutely, I was genuinely always interested in going to his class and listening to his experiences and what he taught and had to say. Sometimes it’s tough being a college student and finding the motivation to go to (and enjoy) class, but I can absolutely say it was different with his class. I was definitely invested and enjoyed it, and if I could take the class again I would.Yep. Glad you enjoyed his class. He's friend of mine and honestly just a great guy always has been
Yup, he definitely does deserve a promotion. Maybe he’s gotten those opportunities and has just simply declined, but if he hasn’t that’s ridiculous.Oswego class of 2014 here. Nothing but great things to say about Jason and he’s taken that hoops program to another level since I left.
Definitely deserves some low end or possibly mid-major D1 offers
My “Fire Autry” thread was trending in that direction too before it got locked. Crazy how 2 of the most popular threads on this website will be about Red.This thread is closing in on hitting the social media comments thread level… and that’s with a long way to go lol
If you're going the assistant route (which I hope we don't, unless the alternative is Hop), Murray seems to make the most sense.I think if you look at the top assistants of the current top 5-10 teams we will see at least 1-2 candidates there
Must we. I think like the baseball free agent season, there will be ups and downs. I hope we make the right choice. Seeing that we haven't fired the current guy, we can only get so much information.Maybe we need a poll as to who is going to be the new coach?
I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. Going to be a long 3-4 weeks.
I feel like I'm rubbernecking. Don't want to look, but can't help myself. This is honestly one of the best threads I've ever read. Has absolutely everything. Hall of Fame first ballot.
I've worked at four universities and I've never encountered one as old school and willing to do things "because that's the way we've always done it" as SU.Yes but Syracuse LOVES nostalgia.

I was trying to come up with one thing he does well as a Head coach today and couldn't come up with one. I hope someone else can help me and come up with one. Play calling? Substitutions, roster construction, anything? We definitely have to go the head coach route.
On paper, Autry should have been a decent head coach, all those years sitting on the bench with JB.
Plus he had time as an assistant elsewhere.
Yet, he has frankly stunk. Good to great recruiter but he doesn't know the xs and os.
I'd sign up for Murray in a heartbeat (and a 100x over Hop).Sounds like Murray

Based on his name (pronunciation), pretty appropo, no?Crazy how 2 of the most popular threads on this website will be about Red.

good head coach. But he needs to learn somewhere else. We need a proven head coach that
can do the job day 1.
Why? You basically have 4 options: ahc from a high performing team, HC from a MM or lower, former HC retread or internal…category 1 is a must have from a candidate pool perspectiveIf you're going the assistant route (which I hope we don't, unless the alternative is Hop), Murray seems to make the most sense.
