I like Bryan Hodgson.
Born and raised in Western New York.
Was Nate Oats assistant at Buffalo and Alabama.
Was lead recruiter for Alabama and brought in some great recruits.
Now he is HC at Arkansas State. Has them turned around after being awful. They beat Memphis this season.

If you want someone who can go 'Fran mode' on the recruiting trail, this is your guy.

Okay, I have said this before and it is 100% true, I could have retired at 25 if I would have been willing to sell tickets to people so that they could have watched me watch a game. Had to watch a Big East tournament game at a bar because I was at work. When the game was over a guy I didn't know came over and said, me and my friends have to know, how much money did you have on this game? I looked at him and said nothing.

It isn't abuyout per se. He has more than a 2 year contract. You want to fire him, you have to pay him. This isn't pro football.

Definitely would give up Kiyan for a great coach.Kiyan is a good ball player but he ain’t Carmelo.

I also wouldn’t assume a new coach means we can’t retain those guys. That’s why you hire big.

He was Donnie’s main recruiter at Bama. Him leaving was the reason why Donnie didn’t go there.

I just can’t understand how it’s even possible. All the money that Syracuse has brought in over the years. The move to the ACC was about football and more money. All these things were to boost the athletic department financially. I mean for the past 4 decades we’ve had the largest basketball crowds in the country and one of the largest brands. I get football is just swinging back in the right direction but it just doesn’t make any sense.

At some point in time the money to buy out a contract is worth it if attendance is dropping enough. we’re not there yet. I don’t see anything before end of next year sadly.

It’s all accounting. It’s a function of how much the school wants to spend on basketball and football. Football matters more long term for the conference game and it’s getting more attention is part of the issue. The school could fund both if they wanted to. It’s an issue of priorities.
