Don't EVER leave out Marty Conlon!!!Hey.. you are speaking of the school that produced God Shamgod and Abdul Shamsideen
To be fair neither do weFor what’s its worth. Providence message board on 247 doesn’t think they are getting hodgson.
Super random I have a friend who's a Providence alum and when I asked him who he liked he said Murray, John Becker, and the Yale coach. Doesn't mean much but from a fan perspective seems like BH wasn't on a ton of their radars.
Could USF get Hodgson to agree to an extension? Look if USF thinks they are closer to getting an ACC bid that's the wild card here...To be fair neither do we
I want neither. Neither moves the needle at all. We’d be settling big time with either.I’m still holding out hope it’s Hodgson, but if it’s really between Gmac and Holloway I want Holloway. I think he’s a good enough coach that could do well here and I really want an outside hire.
Everybody thought the Big East schools would have an advantage in revenue sharing and they do, but they don't have an advantage in NIL as that, at least as it has played out so far, is based on what supporters want to pay. Thus, Kentucky's roster is estimated to be paid $18 to $20 million vs St. John's at $8 to $10 million.excellent post with one comment. if they chose too, a non football playing school such as providence could allocate close to the $20m rev share to bball. i doubt they'd want to but they do have a lot more flexibility than an su with rev share. could be a difference maker when looking at total funds available (nil + rev share).

JB putting his fingers on the scale? This is madness.
Thad Matta will return to Butler
I said this about 3 months ago as well. SLU has two HUGE donors.
Marty doesnt deserve this slander.Don't EVER leave out Marty Conlon!!!
The Hodgson camp definitely understands the leverage he now has. Hopefully, the SU side also knew what was coming (pretty certain they did) and adapted.Hodgson is still coaching in the NCAA tournament. He's made it clear he wants to be here. They are just trying to turn up the heat on both Syracuse University AND it's donors to put together a good NIL package. That dude doesn't want to be banished to freaking Providence.
So we're admitting there are issues?!?!?He is not. THe potential issues have nothing to do with him.
Unless Holloway goes on a run here down the stretch that starts with out coaching Pitino tonight lol. March is a drug lol.I want neither. Neither moves the needle at all. We’d be settling big time with either.

This could not be further from the truth. He is the #1 on their board.alluding to that the pursuit is over from the Syracuse side for Hodgson.
We can send them Autry, he would be a cheap hire.My take is that all we’re hearing today is the chatter out of Providence that BH and his agent are open to their offers and they’re making a serious play for him.
For providence there is no backup plan hence the crazy talk for writing him a blank check today.
In the heads of PC people that means they’re locking him up but I’m thinking it’s just a smart move out of the BH camp to get a better payout and resources for wherever he lands.
Syracuse has more options to consider which lines up with comments BB is making today about how they’re moving quickly but there is a lot of options.
Guess we’ll see.
