Coach Search Options after Autry

There is no way Kent stays until that date. I would wager he slows down going into the office come May. Haynie will start being folded into meetings and all that comes with the role. Kent will start getting briefed on Michigan stuff and will likely be traveling back and forth.
Likely it's all happening already.

Article today, and seen this thrown out once before, but curious to the boards take. Dawn Staley. That would be a really out of the box hire. Could be interesting in being the first women's coach in men's basketball. Afterall how many men coach women's basketball. But would the money come in for that? Or is the world not ready for that? It would be a risk, and not sure a risk is the best idea right now. Syracuse is pretty non forward thinking, including our fans.
Honestly it’s not just the hill to worry about. A lot of good ol boys down south that won’t take kindly to losing to not only a New Yorker but also a women.

I'd be cool with the right woman though doubt it happens on the P4 level any time soon.

My impression of Staley is that she barks and scowls at the refs from the opening tip to the final buzzer. Tough to watch. Her bogus claims against BYU were not cool either.

So the female equivalent of Dan Hurley (winning included)

Just like Red was going to bring in a new coach to help run a better, pressure-man defense. That worked well.
I don’t disagree with that. I feel Red is a guy who tries to talk his kids into playing hard. I’m old school and think u need the tough coach approach. Play tough d or don’t play. I feel gmac or hodge is good. Their teams play hard with good ball movement. Red was too nice. Never had a great feeling with him but I did with Mac. Not sure why.

I've heard her name mentioned before in general. Is she interested in coaching men's basketball?

I’m fine with it happening at a lower level program. Wouldn’t be the right fit for all parties due to how important this hire is for the future of SU basketball. It would create a distraction by bringing the focus to gender that’s not needed.

In the take it for what its worth category, I spoke to a current D3 men's basketball coach today at Ivy League title game who has ties with an assistant on South Florida who has ties to the area as well (they text regularly) and that assistant coaches opinion less then 20 percent chance Hodgson ends up at Cuse. The opinion is he will either be at South Florida again or Providence, NOT saying this is fact but interesting take.
