Coach Search Options after Autry

Waiting for someone here to pass along solid information. Most of what we know is just speculation based on rumors and hearsay. Providence is in this race because they’re tired of being a distant stepchild to UConn. When your neighboring school is winning national titles, it only makes sense that you’re going to up your game. It’s time that SU gets serious, too. Let’s see if that is true.

Another thing I think is the University is not going to embarrass Gerry .. If he is way down the list or has no chance he would have been told and pulled out of the process as many coaches do to look better .. He’s def not that far down the list.

I also find it somewhat weird that we have not heard from any former players about anything other than Donte and Etan on socials.. Suprised Devo hasn’t said much and I know he’s tight with Gerry

Can you imagine Syracuse, which is a top 10 or 15 program of all time? Doing a national search. Having their #1 target also be the hottest coach on the market, and not only that, but that coach wanting to come here and then not getting it done?

Like everything has aligned for this even them playing in Buffalo so he is back home near Syracuse. I just can't believe that at the end of the day, the deal doesn't get done.


Also, all that doesn't mean Hodgson is a slam dunk success and will win big here, but making correct hires like this at the right time will lead to you making the correct decision more times than not.

The basketball Gods are looking out for us, no blue blood or other top program looking for a coach. A top candidate from your state who grew up a fan and wants the job. If they botch this they might as well give up playing bball.

And nothing there seems unreasonable in the slightest. Any coach worth his salt will want a competitive level of funding to position himself for the expectations of Syracuse basketball. And I fully expect JW / BB would have anticipated this demand.

I’ll just say the $20.5m total revenue share needs to change for schools that have football. Need caps for football, MBB and then the remaining sports. One total amount makes little sense.

Seems resonable. We were at 8-9 all in this year. So getting up to 10-12 seems like a reasonable ask. Not saying that isn't a lot of money, but the ask isn't unreasonable to me.

Doubt that's sustainable unless they start pushing marketing deals that currently exist into NIL. They need to be approaching this in a different way and given how things work on the hill, i'm not optimistic. hopefully new AD helps them think differently.

honestly, i'm sure a lot of universities outside the big ones are the same. you had colleges doing the same way forever and a lot were caught flat footed. You see headline after headline of colleges trying to fix NIL to get XYZ candidate.

That was 3 years ago. PC is clearly making an effort to bring in and spend more money than they were at that point.

That's all I had seen too. I'm doubting she's from originally up north if she went to Alabama University, but hopefully she can get used to the weather in the winter .
