Coach Search Options after Autry

Here is my take.

Whoever is the coach will need all of our support more than ever. Seats filled to bring in more revenue.

Don't make assumptions about what they will be able to accomplish.

I wanted Hodgson. But honestly I have a lot more to worry about in my every day life than the fact that he isn't coming...or is he? We really do not know how this new world of NIL will play out in the end. BUt most likely he is out of the running. I actually feel like it was an SU decision.

If it all stems from 2 factions of donors up against each other, than maybe the best thing for now was a compromise coach and to keep both parties in the donation game.

Maybe there was something in Hodgson's background that we didn't like We just don't know.

But what peee's me off more than anything is all the talk about no longer supporting the program.

It may take building it up all over again from the bottom. And the bottom may start with a coach you are less than thrilled about. But let's fill the seats get money for revenue sharing back in line, and let our new guru fundraising AD work on building relationships that will lead to substantial NIL money.

It all just might have been too soon to get those funds in line.

If it is Gerry, enjoy the nostalgia, and hope that he a pull the rabbit out of the hat.
I get it, but after having tickets for decades some are exhausted. I went to games the past couple years with maybe 3,000 people in the stands. If that’s not supporting the program I’m not sure what is. We had a great chance to correct things this year by picking the best candidate period. Having to have a compromise candidate because some rich people can’t get along is why the school can’t get out of its own way in the first place.

I respect your opinion and message. But why do I want to support mediocrity and failure? The only way things will change is if people stop putting up with the notion that this is ok and can't be fixed.

People saw what rock bottom was with another JB assistant in Autry. Attendance is at an all-time low, and how will GMAC help with that?

With all that being said. I'm excited to see our WBB team in the tourney. That should be the team we support in the future because Syracuse University has clearly shown they dont care about basketball anymore.

I was thinking that but was he not offered so we could save face in turning it down or do we truly like another candidate?

Great points. You can be angry and upset, but if you say you’re done supporting the program then good riddance.

you know that how? i dont know if its true but someone told me today after 2 interviews, gmac took himself out of the running.
I heard the same thing. Gerry is very smart. Looks like it’s a mess. You would know Mitch better than I. Like I said before all my hooks have passed. I’m just waiting my turn. Prace

I really don’t understand why Syracuse thinks Gmac is the guy. Let me make this clear, I love Gmac and everything he’s done for Syracuse. He’s also an amazing person. However, he had the best NIL in an awful league, almost all of his wins are Q4, and he can’t recruit here (this isn’t even a hypothetical, this was proven when he was

This is it, right? It's not about whether we like him as a person or whether he'll be a great coach someday. If we hire him because we can't get someone better, then it implies we have other structural problems in the program. If that's the case, then we're setting him up to fail.

I'll go so far as to say that if we hire G Mac, then there was no reason to fire Red.
I’ll go so far as to say this was easily the stupidest comment in the history of man.
TOTAL ANARCHY HERE! I LOVE IT!
