Syracuse University is a well-funded university w/a sizable endowment. It MUST figure out a way to better fund athletics and player budgets in the short term.

When the coaches come, players come, success comes...then the donors will follow. SU has been trying to do it backwards.

Unfortunately 98% of that endowment can't be used for sports so it's essentially useless. If they were to break glass for that it would have to be for conf realignment purposes not hiring Hodgson.

He’s done a good job at Siena. I live in the area. But his stats in general don’t support him even being an option for the job…… at this point in his career. When you compare what Hodge has done vs Gerry and account for the difference in competition level. It’s not even close. He’s not ready to coach at this level yet. I’ll provide the stats that have been posted on here numerous times already. There’s no comparison.

Not saying Gerry is better than Hodge or that he should be hired, but the guy can flat out coach and is everything Autry wasn't. I have no issue at all with him being an option for the job. Doesn't mean he should be the one hired, but for him to be given consideration makes sense. This program would've been better if he was the original hire over Autry. Even though that by no way means he's the right guy now.
