I'm not saying he can't coach. I'm saying that he's coached in the MAAC. Maybe we'll find out, but if we're putting so few resources into this program that we're hiring GMAC, then I don't think we're going to be that much better. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe we'll find out.

Fair enough. For me though, if I see a guy who I believe is a strong coach (no matter the level), I'm at least giving them a good look. And I don't think hiring GMAC means low resources. But I could be wrong too.

That's because winning the MAAC gets an autobid. I'm happy for them, and I like autobids. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't think that's necessarily a better resume than winning 20 games in the ACC.

I should add, I wanted Red fired more than any 3 people on this board. I just don't think GMAC is much of an upgrade.

I can’t believe people think Mike Hopkins is a legitimate candidate. This is absurd. Coaches don’t even think he’s a good coach.

No one does except for that bag of money being waved around. He’s basically one of those political candidates in a foreign country just buying an election if this happens.

Based on what? Winning the MAAC tournament? Red won 20 games in the ACC 2 years ago. Which is the bigger feat?

why is it some people can’t use logic when looking at level of competition as well as there are plenty of great coaches at lower levels as well. It’s kind of beyond dumb. Using that logic, Curt Cignetti stinks too!

If we are announcing tomorrow the best case is either Skinn or Shaheen, I think. GMU played tonight like a team that knows their coach is gone and pretty sure Seton Hall declined to play in the Crown tournament which I wouldn't expect from a Halloway team.

Both are way down my list but at this point just anybody that isn't Hopkins so I can at least have some hope.

The $30M that’s been mentioned for weeks is supposedly over 3 years. $10M annually is the bare minimum for teams next year. Considering that I imagine some of that $10M would go to funding the school’s $4M in direct compensation then it seems far less impressive.
