I think there’s agent wiggle room between “turning down Syracuse” and “turning down the job”. I have to imagine the vast majority of the time the actual job offer is only made when you know the guy is going to say yes. If there’s mutual interest between the two parties and the coach says I’m looking for at least X to coach and the school says .8x is the best we can do and the coach decides to move on I think an agent can pretty fairly leak he turned them down.

This is what a lot of people don't understand. There is no "offer" unless terms are agreed on. We weren't able to come up with the money he wanted for NIL, and there were also multiple other factors about the Syracuse job that led him to not want to be here. So there was no offer to turn down.

After that was made clear, we told him we were moving on. His agent has been working the media to control the narrative surrounding his candidacy at several schools for weeks.

What matters most is that he was the number one option on our board, and we couldn't land him.
