Coach Search Options after Autry

My #1 must have is that we need a disciplinarian, basically a dude with a true bad cop mentality. We see what a bunch of good cops on the staff and HC looks like in CNY now and it leads to 5 losses by a basket or two.

The new coach has to strike the fear of god into these kids most of which will be pulled out of the portal and ride them hard so they don’t fall apart against Hofstra or on the road to BC or be dropping games by a basket.

It’s the lack of toughness that has plagued this program for a decade now and needs to change.

Just because we clean house doesn’t mean that fans will just buy back in suddenly and fill out the dome or the ACC is going to give us an easy run.

The new staff and team are going to have to go to war to dig the program out of the grave for real on the court not just with a bunch of Instagram work out videos and talk.
Totally agree, spot on!

Anyone who mentions another coach that is retired should be banned from posting about future coaching candidates. That goes for Tony Bennett, Bruce Pearl, and Jay Wright. I’d add Billy Donovan into that group as well.

To be clear, this is directed at Cuse Sports Talk, not JHJ.

Not sure if this has been posted on here yet, but Skinn has a $1.2m buyout.
"One final note: the buyout for Skinn if he leaves is rather light, at $1.2 million if he leaves next March [2026], and that drops $200,000 a year through the duration of the deal."

Not that it matters because I have no say, but after quickly researching some of these names you guys have tossed out, I'm a Shertz guy for now. Key being he's won everyplace he's been.
That's usually the type of coaches who do well because they have a regimented system for practice, and games.
But they keep it simple.
