I spot people in Arkansas State shirts. Hodgson is a movement.Crispin will be flying up and calling the Syracuse game on Saturday I believe.
I think where Hop thrived was signing top rated classes year after year. This is where Hop thrived and was in his element. He was phenomenal at developing players, and that is where our current staff falls short. It’s a shame that Hop didn’t pan out at Washington, but being a HC wasn’t his niche. He’s best working with the players and playing right hand man to the big dog. I’d take him back in that role any day of the week, with a new HC obviously.
Maybe Kyle can apply for another year with the argument that Cronin (promised more playing time) and Red (promised good coaching) wasted 2 years of his college career.Kingz had a medical redshirt year and also played a year of JUCO. It’s definitely possible the NCAA gives him an extra year
And Louisville after the failed Kenny Payne experiment. Program had to cut to ground and did so with complete new roster and proven winner coach.Kornheiser and Wilbon weigh in on Syracuse. Something really wrong...

ESPN’s Kornheiser and Wilbon weigh in on SU basketball: ‘There’s something really wrong at Syracuse’
One of ESPN's most prominent voices called for a 'full reset' for Syracuse basketball.www.syracuse.com
The Michigan analogy is accurate, and my wife/kids (who all went to Michigan) remind me that change can be quite good.
Northern Iowa Panthers!I’m watching Colorado State play right now at UNLV and they have such a sweet offensive system with tons of ball movement and off the ball screening. It’s so antithetical to the garbage we run. Their coach is the one , the only, Ali Farokhmanesh. He’s in his first year as head coach after being an assistant there for 7 years.
They shoot over 40% as a team from 3 because they get such good looks. Not sure their defense is up to par but the offense looks like a pain to deal with
Hodgson rolling out some 2-3 zone and they rebounded out of it!
I''m watching USF v Memphis right now. Memphis can't buy a bucket
USF playing good defense, but also Memphis has missed about 15 ahots in a row.
This won't sound popular, but USF doesn't play that much differently than us.
They don't have any really big post players. They hustle and block shots.
They make their threes more than we do.
But they don't play so differently than Autry tries to. I just think the competition is not as strong.
You watch UConn, and you see how their offense is different. USF, not so much.
My two cents.
If you want to see how the offense functions at the next level or P4 level watch Alabama
There offense runs at like 4x the speedI''m watching USF v Memphis right now. Memphis can't buy a bucket

I'll check them out, thanks.
I do have to say, since Hurley hired that assistant 3 years ago, their offense is freaking awesome.
Reminds me of UCLA under Wooden, Pete Carrill with the back door cuts at Princeton, or even UNC under Dean Smith when they had Phil Ford. Wow, that was an offense!
I admit I haven’t been following this closely. Do we have a legit chance of getting him? Sorry, this is probably a redundant question.![]()
USF Basketball Is Smashing Records and Running Teams Into the Ground - USF Athletics
With the highest-scoring offense in program history, elite 3-point shooting, and a pace no one can match, Bryan Hodgson's Bulls are making their case as the mostgousfbulls.com
Pretty good article here lots of insight on USF for you guys that don't watch much basketball outside of Syracuse. Some of the better quotes...
"Coach (Hodgson) runs this like an NBA team,'' said Bulls senior center Izaiyah Nelson, a frontrunner for American Conference Player of the Year while averaging 16.0 points and 9.8 rebounds. "If you don't like our style of play, you don't like basketball. As players, we dream about playing this style. Other teams probably don't like preparing for us because we're looking to run you into the ground.''
USF leads the American in seven team categories — average points (88.8), rebounds (42.7), offensive rebounds (15.3), assists, free-throw attempts (28.1), free throws made (20.6) and 3-point attempts (29.1). Nelson is the American pace-setter in rebounds (9.8), field-goal percentage (.592), and double-doubles (16).
"It's great to score up in triple digits, but honestly, we focus more on our offensive efficiency numbers and getting lots of possessions,'' Hodgson said. "The No. 1 thing is winning basketball games. The way we recruit, we have an offensive-heavy mindset, but we look to teach them to be great defenders. Scoring is great. We want to be great at defense, too.''
"What was promised has been delivered — the reality is we're a fast-paced, hard-nosed playing team,'' Brown said. "But people don't see the work behind the scenes, the practices where we're running two hours straight. No stops, very few breaks, nothing. It was a hard time, but I adjusted to it, and now it's my way of life.
"That one is huge,'' Quarles said. "We want high (volume of) 3's, high layups, high free throws … and not a lot of mid-range 2's. That formula turns into a lot of points and being as efficient as we can be.
Looked more like a matchup zone with some very unique concepts. One guard pressure d the ball, the second sagged to take away the entry pass and the forward on that side extended. Completely flummoxed Memphis. Stayed in for many possessions.Hodgson rolling out some 2-3 zone and they rebounded out of it!
Is that legal?Hodgson rolling out some 2-3 zone and they rebounded out of it!

They play hard and fast.
Their offense doesn’t have any complex schemes. It’s pace, ball movement, hustle and shooters.
Fennell would love this type of system.

By design... 3s, at the rim, and FT (lead the nation).Their offense doesn’t have any complex schemes. It’s pace, ball movement, hustle and shooters.
I hope we don’t mess this up…If Syracuse wants Hodgson he will be the coach here next year.
I wouldn’t expect the school’s website to produce negative commentary. So much for the fake news from someone that his top players didn't like him
