I'm not in favor of the hire. I'm just saying their are worse options out there. I just don't understand why this university refuses to move on and look outside of cny.Brian Hopkins would be a terrible hire come on.
$$$ they know they can get hop for cheap and get a lot of donationsI'm not in favor of the hire. I'm just saying there are worse options out there. I just don't understand why this university refuses to move on and look outside of cny.
My impression is the belief is Hodgson brings program building and $, Hop is the second best fundraising option. And there’s some serious backing for him. He’s very likable as we all know. And I love the guy. Gave me my first SU ball boy job. Played a ton of golf with him. And it pains me to say this, I don’t think this time is the right time for him to be the coach. He would endure a lot of what red is going through no matter how good the result is in my mind. And I don’t want to see another guy go through that and have us as fans go through what we’re going through right now if it doesn’t go well
Gmac really doesn’t want it? I’d take him over Hop.$$$ they know they can get hop for cheap and get a lot of donations
Gmac things he’s going to be wanted for a massive job in a few years… just relaying what I heard from others and he has resource concernsGmac really doesn’t want it? I’d take him over Hop.
Why would you post that? Absolutely nobody is suggesting that.If Hop gets chosen over Hodgson my belief that the school isn't trying and only wants to cash checks will be in cement.
I said this a few days ago. Add me to the list of those who know. I think he’s going to be in play for bc w Gerry if that opens up. I heard it may not thoughHop has certainly been working the phones. No doubt.
It’s winning that they should worry about, not making some people happy.$$$ they know they can get hop for cheap and get a lot of donations
I'd prefer we not hire anyone that requires every sentence about them to start "He's a great guy, but...".
It's been a long 3 years of that.
I'm riding with GLDOGood to hear. Gilardino doesn’t post a lot, but he has a history of being right. I trust that his source knows as much as anyone.
This isn't a direct reaction to you bulldog, but more about the sentiment you're describing.$$$ they know they can get hop for cheap and get a lot of donations
Chris Mack is going to make some fan base very happy. So what coach who has won NCAA tournament games are you suggesting?
Trust me I’m with ya. That’s why I said this isn’t the time to basically try to be slick and get lucky. Hire BH and let’s goThis isn't a direct reaction to you bulldog, but more about the sentiment you're describing.
The program has been in a steady decline for a period of 8 plus years. If the rationalized objective at this stage, with the program teetering on the precipice of plummeting into ruin, is to be able to land a coach "for cheap," then it tells us everything we need to know about the university's commitment to getting the Titanic turned around.

Hop is not in play because he can be had for cheap (consider that part “value -added”), he’s in play because he has the financial support of a significant portion of our boosters. Tell them it’s a bad idea. This isn't a direct reaction to you bulldog, but more about the sentiment you're describing.

I don’t know how the University can sell this hire if they bring in Hop or GMAC. They won’t sell me.I really like Mack but I think with everything going on (AD and up) it will either be Hop, GMac, or BH, that is if I had to guess with about 3 weeks left.
hang on to your ticketsIf it’s Hopkins I’ll ask for a refund on my season tickets. I want him less than Gerry.
I know that nobody agrees with this on here and i’m not attacking anybody but this logic is so idiotic. My impression is the belief is Hodgson brings program building and $, Hop is the second best fundraising option.
It's a bad idea because he was an abject failure the last 3 years of his tenure at the University of Washington.Hop is not in play because he can be had for cheap (consider that part “value -added”), he’s in play because he has the financial support of a significant portion of our boosters. In the NIL world we’re in, accumulating dead presidents is a lot of the job.
Now having said that, I think he’s a distant second choice.
No offense but the expectation of something different was a longshot. This isn't a direct reaction to you bulldog, but more about the sentiment you're describing.
