Coach Search Options after Autry

Bh has proven he can win, hop hasn't. From everything you hear he is also good at raising money as well. Some of you are stuck in the 2000s. It's 2026 it's time to move on.
Wasn’t Dino really good at winning in the mid majors???

there's some big names on that committee. lally, ensley, tirico, ballentine, etc. i'm sure they'll be fine without us. besides, and someone can correct me if im wrong, but i think they're more engaged with the financial package and not necessarily the who unless it's a question of morals or something.
I hope Tirico is spending more time on Cuse than the Olympics. He better get his priorities in order.

BC btw has literally zero NIL. It’s revenue sharing and between their major sports, they don’t spend the 20.

Great job!
Well, at least there's one team we know we should beat from now to eternity!

The optics of hiring Hop would be 10x worse than hiring GMac. We'd be a laughing stock program, yet still stuck in the past.
The only good optics move is if we poach a coach with a top 25 team. Anything less is varying degrees of hope and cope.

That’s what I said a week or so ago, you couldn’t find worse timing for a JW retirement if the AD isn’t already quietly been named. lame duck AD hiring a coach is a horrible idea

I have to think that if it's the West Point guy, who I believe had a meeting up here a month ago, that part of the interview would be he and Wildhack talking about the basketball coaching situation and potential candidates.

If they haven't done that, that would have been a mistake.
But of course, it's premised on who SU knowing who the want to hire, but just can't do it publicly because people are still employed until June.

Hop interviewing at BC. They want him apparently. But he’s making waves for cuse job too. He’s got full court press on
Hop to BC would be a better fit for him. Feels very much like Tim Welsh to Providence a couple of decades ago.

Dont disagree. But if they somehow, beat the cards, win 2 big games in the ACC tourney then what? Agree the odds are very very low on the above
Then he still gets fired. You assess his entire performance all years. Doesn't matter if somehow he suddenly makes some ACC run.

I believe that is correct.

The West Point guy just signed an extension the other day I believe, so he’s out of the running unfortunately.

I hope that you understand that if they stayed in house, they would have been absolutely killed in the media for passing over Red. He was the Associate HC, not Gerry.
I totally get that. That’s why I’ve said over and over that Wildhack had no choice in the hire. So I don’t blame him for this mess.

Freeman is now showing what he really is as an ACC player. He played a couple of games last year. No one really knew what he was. His effort is telling by the fact he has 16 total offensive rebounds for the entire season. That’s very telling. That’s less than one a game. Schools have figured him out and he’s not mentally tough and doesn’t adjust well to the way teams are prepared to play him. The coaching staff hasn’t helped him either. How they didn’t have a plan EVERY time he was doubled yesterday is beyond me. He should have known his couple of options every time he was doubled. He acted surprised.

Freeman thinks he's a small forward. He's soft. Not as good a shooter as he thinks he is, and absolutely cannot drive to the rim against a guy his size or bigger.

Freeman's failure to be a legit 1st option who knows how to use his size to play inside-out is Red's biggest failure with this year's team.

Last year, he got hurt early, so OK, fine. This year, hurt again, and he's played maybe 5 good games this year, to the level of his ability.

How? She was fired at pitt for not raising nil money lol. How is she even in the running?
Not saying I’m in favor or agree with it, just sharing what I’ve heard from multiple sources even before Wildhack announced his retirement.
