Did I miss an update or are you just referencing bull dogs comment around the bad backup candidates? What a sad day for the basketball program.

Just speculating that could make the leverage strongerNo one is saying that. And I question whether KA or any of our players could get in to B.C. Maybe everyone on this board as well.
Yeah exactly. I actually think this is good. We are finding out there are some big dollars in play and they are fighting to lay it all out there in an effort to improve the state of SU basketball. Let them duke it out and talk money and fundraising and see what happensWhy? Nothing has happened yet.
Etan would probably come in with a steel chair against Mrs. Lally.Come on. Talk reality. Melo is a professional athlete. It wouldn't be fair. How about Mrs Lally vs AdamW.
Ok, we take 15 ad Candidates, 15 hc Candidates, throw them in a royal rumble. The two who emerge win the jobs.

No. A applicant has applied for the job. He is making his case. That is all this is. You think they should tell Hop don't bother making your case because Red sucked?Because this junk should never be entertained, especially after what we just went through with Red. There should be no mention of GMac or HOP or anyone tied to the program. The fact that this is heading up just like the last fake coaching search is very telling that the powers that be didn't learn anything and are on the path to make the same mistake.
Bingo! We may find out we are better off financially and interest wise in restoring our program than we initially thought.Yeah exactly. I actually think this is good. Do these people seem like the type of people to you that will say, well, my candidate lost but now is the time to unite and win this thing? Or, screw them?Bingo! We may find out we are better off financially and interest wise in restoring our program than we initially thought.
Lally and Weitsman absolutely not in relation to each other. Melo we’ll see. I’d hope the university wouldn’t burn bridges with their biggest donor but who knows lol. One thing is for sure: buckle up and get your popcorn ready.Do these people seem like the type of people to you that will say, well, my candidate lost but now is the time to unite and win this thing? You know Allen Griffin has the popcorn readyLally and Weitsman absolutely not in relation to each other. Melo we’ll see. I’d hope the university wouldn’t burn bridges with their biggest donor but who knows lol. One thing is for sure: buckle up and get your popcorn ready.

It never hurts to listen.Yes, exactly, you should tell Hop not to bother if he wanted the job, he should have gone to a lower level and found success instead, right now he is just a failed P4 coach. The only and ONLY reason we are listening is because he was an ASST Coach here. Otherwise, his resume is awful. Or are we listening to every failed coach who wants the job?? Mike Woodson next? He has connection to Melo? Let's hear him out. All they have to do is apply?
Yes clearly the years he put in here mean nothing. Oh and never saying a bad word about a school that screwed him, doesn’t count either. It’s an interview there will be more.Yes, exactly, you should tell Hop not to bother if he wanted the job, he should have gone to a lower level and found success instead, right now he is just a failed P4 coach. Think the biggest thing here is that we're not splitting hairs on the qualifications/resume of the candidates. BH is one of the most sought-after, up-and-coming coaches in the country - Hop was an abject failure at Washington, and the only other program pursuing him is the laughing stock of our conference. The two are not created equal.Do these people seem like the type of people to you that will say, well, my candidate lost but now is the time to unite and win this thing? Or, screw them?
Great points. If Buddy wasn’t a D1 player Hop would have been our coach years ago and maybe still to this day.Yes clearly the years he put in here mean nothing. Oh and never saying a bad word about a school that screwed him, doesn’t count either. It’s an interview there will be more.
I think we likely would be in the same position now based on his history in UW and inability to coach an effective offense.Great points. If Buddy wasn’t a D1 player Hop would have been our coach years ago and maybe still to this day.
It was off the record. It was not someone who said it in the
Take him bc. PleaseHop interviewing at BC. They want him apparently. But he’s making waves for cuse job too. He’s got full court press on
Agree. He probably wouldn't have gotten screwed out of a chance, but I'm not sure the end result would be any different. His bench coaching wouldn't have been great no matter which coast he was on.I think we likely would be in the same position now based on his history in UW and inability to coach an effective offense.
Can’t stress this enough. Boosters need to be educated by our admin on the resumes of Hop and Hodge. These boosters are smart people who have been very successful in their fields. I feel as if they are properly informed on both the ad and coaching positions, these people will want to spend their money on what logically makes sense.Think the biggest thing here is that we're not splitting hairs on the qualifications/resume of the candidates. Also, one more thing. Those trustees who know absolutely nothing about collegiate athletics get wiped shut during these trustee discussions. They talk big until it’s time to actually discuss. Can’t stress this enough. Boosters need to be educated by our admin on the resumes of Hop and Hodge. This is also why blowing smoke right now is useless.
Meetings and discussion are just starting (and barely at that). More than likely nothing but backdoor conversations.
When real meetings and conversations are to be had, opinions and decision will hopefully (and they tend do) shift towards logic.
Very similar as the previous football head coaching search. Smoke on this guy and that guy, but when it was time to make the hire, resumes and fit flew to the forefront and it always felt like it was Wildhack’s call more than boosters per say.
Every booster/trustee “likes” this candidate or this candidate. They will all sit down together and the best candidate will be hired.
Side note: If they hire Lyke, yikes. But I don’t thing it will happen.
