We should stop posting info from unvetted random social media accounts.
I didn't just post it as fact, I posted it as this is a media account that has a podcast that is drawing conclusions based on false information. We should stop posting info from unvetted random social media accounts.
This can’t even be close to true lol. More like high end of tier 2. What gets alloted in rev share alone gets Syracuse close to out of Tier 3.
This was my fear all along. Especially when you do “cuse math”. They have to pay AA buyout (let’s just call it a few mil) then in order to be 40th highest paying job you have to pay $3.5m a year and give a 5 year contract. So we’re already at $19.5m not counting assistants or other resource needs. So all in you’re looking close to $25-$30m commitment to be top 40 in pay. Which is not even that great. I don’t see SU ever doing that, hence the candidate list …
...and don't forget, at USF, Hodgson signed a 6-year deal that includes a $2 million buyout if he leaves before April 15, 2027.
Want another reason why Hop is under serious consideration??
He has no million dollar+ buyout.
Ditto.I'm in my 70s and would prefer a coach in their 30s.
I think that Hop would make a great coach for Syracuse. Booster money will be there for himhe's not my first choice but i'm not gonna kick and scream if he does get it and will root like hell for him and su.

Except we’ll be buying him out when we need to fire him in 3 years after he signs an inflated contract for his coaching history.
that's without rev sharing and is NIL only but is a bit low. we're about $4.5ish so very high end of tier 3 or very low end of tier 2. or between them
i feel your pain. we sound like broken records.People need to differentiate between NIL and player compensation from the school. Folks use "NIL" as a shorthand but they are two different sources of money.
SU wants direct booster contributions to fund the $20.5 million they can pay directly to their athletes. Every dollar someone donates to that is a dollar SU doesn't have to cough up on their own. By all accounts SU is paying ~$4 million from the $20.5M to men's basketball players.
NIL proper still exists outside those parameters. And that's how school's go from $4-5 million to $8 million+.
Again, by all accounts here, SU is in that $8 million range this season. Of course, unless all those accounts were incorrect.
I feel like I'm going to be reminding people of the difference between direct compensation and NIL until the end of time.![]()
On another board I frequent, they enforce what you said. Not that I'm asking the mods here to do more work. But this crap harms the discourse. Guarantee some posters will be spewing "WE ONLY SPENT TWO MILLIONZ!1!11!!" for the next 6 months,We should stop posting info from unvetted random social media accounts.
There’s too many people with podcasts that don’t know anything. I could say that about any topic.I didn't just post it as fact, I posted it as this is a media account that has a podcast that is drawing conclusions based on false information.
If it's wrong for us then it's likely wrong for everyone else on the list. Which makes the "tiers" useless.that's without rev sharing and is NIL only but is a bit low. we're about $4.5ish so very high end of tier 3 or very low end of tier 2. or between them
Then add that context to the thing you're posting.I didn't just post it as fact, I posted it as this is a media account that has a podcast that is drawing conclusions based on false information.
This is not correct, we have multiple players in the 1.5-2 million dollar range
I would love a guy that has made a tournament and won a game (or at least made multiple tournaments)He was always my floor choice, and Hopkins is below that, so I am concerned. I have been pretty consistent with saying there are better coaches on the market (compared to BH) that we aren't even talking to or have already been turned down by so that is concerning.
We need a break from JB so bad it's not funny and BH is basically the opposite of everything we have done for the past decade.
with or without rev share? This is not correct, we have multiple players in the 1.5-2 million dollar range
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Gaslighting.I think that Hop would make a great coach for Syracuse. Booster money will be there for him
with or without rev share?
The 95-5 rule. As in: I'm 95% certain that X is absolutely true (based on 5% knowledge combined with what I've read on the board from others throwing stuff against the wall). Then add that context to the thing you're posting.
Everyone should strive to add quality to the discourse here, not just throw known s_!t against the wall.
Excuse me, I put commentary below the tweet. "This can’t even be close to true lol. More like high end of tier 2. What gets alloted in rev share alone gets Syracuse close to out of Tier 3".Then add that context to the thing you're posting.

Great coach for Syracuse in accomplishing what as a Syracuse Head Coach is the question.I think that Hop would make a great coach for Syracuse. Booster money will be there for him
eh, I'd argue the Hop people now were mostly the "JB gets to write his own ending" people thenA-freaking-men. The moment was after the 2016 Final Four. Announce JB was stepping aside either then or after a goodbye tour in 2017.
