Coach Search Options after Autry

ACC tourney locks:

Duke: 3rd year coach
UNC: 4th year coach
Virgina: 1st year coach
Louisville: 2nd year coach (but made it his first year)
NC State: 1st year coach

Should be in:

Clemson: Brad is old af
Miami: 1st year head coach

Don't listen to anyone who will say tournament next year, or at the VERY least year 2, is unreasonable. No matter who the coach is the expectation is clear and more than reasonable

If it is Hopkins, I expect a tournament next year...

If it is a out of the family hire:

1st year - I expect to see systems of basketball implemented on both sides of the court. I expect to see the effort improve overall, and change the culture.

That is it they get one year in the NIL era.

2nd year - I am back to my min expectations to be a tournament team every single year. No bubble and we almost made. I expect a tournament every single year.

A new coach gets one year to install systems and change culture.

No excuses in my book, rosters turnover every year so “installing the system” will be an ongoing reality not a one shot

Its awesome when all the shots go in.

Seriously I'm stunned how badly they crushed St Louis. Skinn's trick really has been to come back in 2nd halves of games by valuing every possession on both ends.

I think Skinn is an excellent coach, and I think he has a bright future. Skinn is the type of coach that can beat good teams because of his defense, but will always be limited because his offense will hold him back. I really like him but I think he is a bad fit of what we should be looking for but I think he will be a good coach for a long time.

Smart move for him is to figure out a way to get Kory Mincy paid, and wait out Georgetown or Maryland. Cooley looks like he's mailing it in and Buzz was just a mistake.

I would love love Mincy here, the exact opposite of much of the guard play we've had.

Skinn would be great fit for Georgetown so I don't want him to go there but that would make a lot of sense. His defense would be great in that conference.

Insiders have been quiet lately…. no news is good news I hope
Can we have insiders if we don’t know who’s going to be the source of the decision? Isn’t the whole the admin being changed?

I suspect someone here is in the Hopkins camp
Another who knows JW well
Few booster sources
Few trustee sources

Some of these will know stuff but a new AD may not be sourced yet.

Hopefully he is from a legacy perspective. Hopefully he gets stronger and more explosive and he turns into a really good college player
No offense to the legacy perspective but I'm just interested in what role people think he can play?

Let's just say BH is hired, what use does he have for Kiyan in one of the highest tempo offenses in the league that he will likely run?

And on the other side of the fence will Kiyan be willing to come off the bench again? I highly doubt it.

You’re better than this.
