We are good on here. I was just about to post this lmao
“Nothing premature is good.” - Jimmy BThe season isn't over yet everyone. We can still make a run this week. This new coach talk is premature..
True but took $22MMichigan canned Juan Howard after his last place 8-24 season, then went 27-10 and now they’re in first place at 28-2.
Big change can happen relatively quickly.
Can we though? The season isn't over yet everyone. We can still make a run this week. This new coach talk is premature..
He’s my choice. If we are ok w Fran why aren’t we ok w a good asst? What if Murray brings an experienced former HC as his top assistant?
Lots of assistants have gone on/up to be great HCs. It’s just that we made a bad specific choice, but should that poison the well for everyone?
Just asking for the consideration—I have no personal strong feelings. I don’t watch any other CBB and I’m only (barely) familiar with the names from these threads.
hmmmm...Just found this article with some very interesting info and details

Coaching Carousel Breakdown 1.11.26: Schertz & Skinn(s)
This year's coaching carousel landscape is beginning to take shape, with several teams playing their way in and out of league title and NCAA tournament contention. Here are some storylines we're monitoring as we inch closer towards the first real moves of the cycle. Josh Schertz and Tony Skinn arewww.basketunderreview.com
I feel better about it with Haynie in charge, especially with his comments last week.hmmmm...
"The closest thing to a traditional power here is Syracuse, but a potential candidate will have legitimate questions about the boosters' commitment to NIL".
Absolutely but don't we have a decent story to tell after what we spent last year? I still don't really understand where we are with NIL compared to other programs.hmmmm...

Murray to USF is like Hartline going to USF. I like the thinking.Hodgson—-> SU
Murray ——> USF
Please don't make a run and torture me more. Just make it end already. The season isn't over yet everyone. We can still make a run this week. This new coach talk is premature..
Because it would be 2 HC in a row with zero head coaching experience. He’s my choice. If we are ok w Fran why aren’t we ok w a good asst?

SMU has to win to get into the Dance more than likely, they will smack us around and end itPlease don't make a run and torture me more. Just make it end already.
That was my line of thinking there.Murray to USF is like Hartline going to USF. I like the thinking.
Yup. Time to turn the page. Please don't make a run and torture me more. Just make it end already.
And zero worries even it does. You have zero worries about that happening.
hmmmm...

I understand that emotional response. But they are two very distinct individuals. JB didn’t have HC experience. That would be 3 without. One was ‘successful,’ one wasn’t. Maybe we’re doing an alternating thing, like with the baldness gene… ‘it skips a generation.’Because it would be 2 HC in a row with zero head coaching experience.
You would think, they are leaking some serious oil. It wouldn't shock me if we win, just to prolong the agony.SMU has to win to get into the Dance more than likely, they will smack us around and end it
I love when people say “Pick the right guy” but don’t provide any sort of criteria for what would make that person the right guy.
But when people provide logic for why they don’t want it to be a certain candidate they are just like no, “pick the right guy”
What does that even mean??
A source told The Daily Orange SU’s roster this season costs just under $8 million. They guessed that figure places the Orange seventh-to-ninth spending-wise in the ACC.Absolutely but don't we have a decent story to tell after what we spent last year? I still don't really understand where we are with NIL compared to other programs.
I can’t imagine what other program can land Schertz. If terms of prestige, Syracuse is the best program or one of the best that is likely to open up, imo. If Oklahoma fires Moser or he decamps for somewhere else, then they’d be competitive with us, and I could see him going there. But that’s it. We know he already turned down KSU (obviously), and LSU may not open up, because the buyout is too big for McMahon. And I can’t imagine in a million years that he would go to Providence or Pitt over Syracuse. If he doesn’t come here or to Oklahoma (or maybe Cincy if they don’t make the tourney), I just don’t see what other program he would consider that’s expected to open, and then I would suspect that he’s back at Saint Louis. He may already be "signed unofficially" with another program. It is said by many that we reached out, so maybe that deal is with us; if not, then he decided, or we decided, it wasn't a good fit. I think Schertz is the #1 coach on the market, but I don't think he is in play for us.
Agreed. But how many boosters, local and alumni donors and corporate sponsors wanted to give $$ to a coach that hadn’t won much in two years? There was probably a lot of skepticism around Red. At that point, he didn’t look like a good horse to bet on. He also hasn’t been a good fundraiser himself, from all accounts. With a new coach and a new and exciting vision, SU should be able to raise more funds for NIL, especially with a new AD whose specialty is corporate sponsorships and partnerships and finding new funding sources. I imagine NC and BH will do wonders for our NIL game, especially if we can start winning right away.A source told The Daily Orange SU’s roster this season costs just under $8 million. That’s from their article this weekend. Also the guy from the athletic told the radio guys the same. 7-9 spending in just the ACC is a problem in my opinion still. They need to get to 4-6 most years.
