Call me crazy, I think GMAC would be a phenomenal fit at Butler. Though he may not have enough experience to get the job there. This should be the only job above the A10 or the American he should consider this cycle.

GMac may know the bleep-show that is our athletic department all too well and might not have much interest in jumping back into that fray, which leaves us with the guy with no other options: Hop. Hopefully cooler heads prevail, but the vibes aren't great.

BH and his agent just know this game better. This will be his 5th D1 stop not to mention the time in SEC country which honestly is a whole other beast.

No offense to GMac and his agent but they aren’t on the same level with the back channels going on right now. It’s their 2nd real time through the coaching carousel.

Leaking to JAB and others that he was contacted by BC and GT is nowhere near the level of stuff going on right now with Providence. BH is gonna get top dollar and top nil he wants from us and I’m ok with the games as long as it ends up goo for us.

Exactly. Without proof to support it, I’m guessing that internal strife and power broker egos playing a part in major decisions are factors at virtually every school trying to fill a very prominent role for a flagship program. We’ve just so happen to be involved here, but I’m guessing if you go other places the situation may be similar..

Sorry, my first response might have sounded like I was being a jerk but I was at work and just typed it quick. If you can’t see it all; it’s Alex Klines wife saying the Lally’s wanted Autry and everyone else gone for a year and hodgson to replace them. Someone else responded it was because he didn’t do anything for 3 years. The lallys also responded saying Autry and Kline were good people and when people are let go there’s a lot of anger/emotions. I think I got the overview of it pretty accurately.

I would agree and in general and not specific to this issue, I have noticed there seems to be a bit of naivety of what goes on around the country, when a lot of people think something "only happens at SU." Just speaking as someone who has lived in other areas besides NY since 1988

Well, if the Lallys are going to fund the athletic programs like the Vitamin Water guy does for St John’s, what choice do we have? I have no idea if that’s the case but… I guess it depends on if they put their money where their mouth is. I still don’t entirely understand what the issue is with all the infighting so can anyone enlighten me? Sorry, I’ve been on vacation and missed a lot of the conversation over the past few days. The Lallys wanted Heather Lyke (foolishness yes), but didn’t get her, and we ended up with a strong compromise candidate who feels like a home run. And they apparently they want Hodgson (who we all want) and are gonna help fund his NIlL. Is that not accurate?

Do we want to be beholden to one donor? Yes, that’s probably a poor strategy. But we’ve all been hoping for a big whale donor. Is this not the guy? Of course it would be nice if everybody just got along and were all on the same page.
