I don't want anyone that can't coach offense. Not being able to coach offense will not work in this era anymore. Offensive systems are important now.

And it's not particularly close. I think people are discounting how much of an upgrade any coach will be over the previous staff.

Based on the eye test. Gerry is literally everything Red isn't as a coach. Energy, feel for the game, when to sub, when to call timeouts, Xs and Os. Doesn't mean he's the best guy for the job now, but Gerry can coach.

Yup plus one less distraction for his team Thursday. I’m sure every single player on his team landed and is getting bombarded with questions about Syracuse not to mention USF decisionmakers being annoyed that this is the red entire story line.

The whole Providence thing makes no sense to me still unless that was the real smoke for a bigger usf offer.

I'm not saying he can't coach. I'm saying that he's coached in the MAAC. Maybe we'll find out, but if we're putting so few resources into this program that we're hiring GMAC, then I don't think we're going to be that much better. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe we'll find out.

Seriously, why on Earth would we think that G Mac or--god forbid Hopkins--would be much better than Red? He hasn't proven he can recruit better, and frankly, he hasn't really proven he can coach better. Winning at Sienna is not the same as winning at Syracuse.

Did you seriously come back for more? If you think Adrian is the same coach as Gerry you should really stick to the entertainment threads on this site.

I hope the powers that be have someone in their lives that read these threads. I get that everyone that comments in places like these have soviet bloc state security levels of fanaticism, but this is a beat down fan base absolutely dying to win again and will erect a statue to the next person who does. If they screw this up it might actually be curtains for the program in terms of any future relevancy for decades to come. You have already caused an entire generation to not have any idea what it's like to watch Cuse basketball of old.
