If it Hop, Wildhack’s statement he put out about the next hire was total BS. This University is not serious and is still living in the past. Hop would be the laughing stock of college basketball. It would be an embarrassing hire.

Im sure if you offer 10 mill a year over the next 3 years you can get your guy to the front of the line. $$$ Talks now and its almost the only thing. Even with all that it wasn't an SU alumni who was the 1st choice it was Hodgson

Let me add this. I loveeeeee G-Mac dude is Syracuse through and through. And what he brings to this community and what he means to this program. But what a stale and lazy hire I think that would be. We just absolutely cleaned house for the basketball program, we hired a new chancellor, a new AD. I think it’s 1000% time for new blood and a new chapter for the Syracuse basketball program. If we hire G-Mac we are just replacing what we just had. A Boeheim assistant coach, in the same era where we went on a downward trajectory. That doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies.

I will say G-Mac is a better coach than Autry, G-Mac is a muchhhh better communicator, he’s a players coach like Autry but he’s more recent than Autry as a player so some of these kids know him and what he did because he was a stud and won a Championship with Melo. And what he did at Siena was a really freaking good job so he definitely deserves to be considered in big time jobs. My biggest thing is TWO years at Siena just isn’t enough experience for me and the jump to Siena to Syracuse is a big one. If he ends up being the hire, I won’t be happy with it but I’ll definitely be rooting for him and I hope he makes me eat my words. And how freaking awesome would it be if he wins a title with Melo and then Melo’s kid as the coach (we can all dream and what a story that would be). G-Mac would have a statue here lol. I have to wonder too, Melo is definitely giving his input 100%, you have to wonder if he’s pulling strings behind the scenes for G-Mac. I don’t see why he wouldn’t and I know for a fact Boeheim is. But I just hope Melo and Boeheim put up some money for NIL so he can get the players he needs. The only players I want to see back are Kiyan, Sadiq and Kingz if he gets another year. Otherwise clean house with this roster

Again, and I’ll post this for about a gazillionth time, last year’s $8M total roster money (actually a bit more) was seen as a one time situation with a specific donor ponying up an unusual amount. The $8M (rev share and NIL) would be a bit less than I think we can raise, but it’s not out the ballpark of possibility.

I still think we need to be $10M total roster money to get who we want, my guess is Hodgson wants $12M.

Why would they pony up for Red but not for a proven guy? So depressing.

Look what has changed in the past 2 weeks that could change a years worth of planning. New Chancellor, New AD, infighting over who has a bigger bag and who is more important. And Lyke not being involved the same way.

Haynie has been in the picture a long time and I think Blair was the compromise for those supporting like screwing over the Carp contingent. And guys like JW and Tirico have been in a long time and Lallys still seem engaged so it still makes no sense
