Providence fans are, and some USF, but other than that yeah nobody cares.Nobody is pointing a finger at us and laughing. We that irrelevant. Nobody cares.

If we go with Gerry or Hop they would like be in the $3M salary range. Not sure BH is two times the coach of these two.
Two big east doormats lol. Fun timesPaying Hopkins $3m would be crazy. He doesn't have a lot of other options. Offer him half. SU could justify Gerry's $3m. He's going to get looks from other programs.
Would align with some of the last hires - Fran, Blair and would make more sense as to why after all the momentum and how long BH was supposedly in the works for it to blow up overnight.Seems that way but that would totally undermine what those involved have said about proven winner, experience with NIL etc.
I still stick with smoke or a dark horse here.
Yup it’s truly remarkable what has happened to the basketball program. I always told people that when JB finally retired there was no guarantee we’d ever be as good, but in my wildest dreams I didn’t expect the university to let its major sport brand become so tarnished. Didn’t think it would get this bad this fast.An unserious program clinging on to its glory days because it either refuses or is unable to adapt to what 2026 college basketball is. Going to get left in the dust, and rightfully so.
So copy and paste of this year? Here’s my fear with in house for the normies to get
1- Hop or GMac get the job
2- decent staff is announced
3- a couple guys we want announced will stay
4- decent NIL package leaked out
5- Decent portal class with some exciting additions
6- off season coverage shows promise and intensity and either of those options are well spoken and the non crazies like us are stoked
7- We smoke both exhibitions an everything looks positive
8- We get to Vegas and can’t score and staff is angry and not sure what to do as we get bulldozed again.
9- The juice and excitement is completely gone and there are no good basketball answers that the staff is able to provide
10- JB is much louder on the media telling Cuse nation to let his guy get going and trust the process and spews some spin about the Vegas losses
11- The tailspin begins before we’ve even gotten to conference season and the dome empties out like it did with Red
12- All along the media and other fanbases are laughing at us like we are Rutgers.
Maybe it doesn’t go this way but the normies need to understand this has a much higher likelihood than with BH and definitely higher with Hop. GMac looks like a good hire compared to Hop and if that’s part of the whole mirage to try and sell this, grading on a curve…
Lastly - if it’s GMac then I’ll just say a little prayer that Siena gives Duke the biggest scare of the season or does the impossible and maybe some faith is restored.
So... the opposite of a hometown discount???

DePaulWe have become Georgetown
I truly hope it’s Gerry. Hop had a chance with talent at Washington and didn’t win with 0 offense and Gerry has one with a better o than Hop has. I’m really hoping for Mac. His assistants are good too.Still not sure who it’s going to be. Went to bed last night thinking it was Hop. Now Thinking it could also be Gerry.
Either way, it’s heavily heavily leaning in-house.
None of the Syracuse guys have a clue how to coach modern offensive basketball. Here’s my fear with in house for the normies to get

Id be kinda surprised. This is utmost importance with more serious people involvedEgg on the face...would anyone be surprised.
Who are we bidding against, his merit raise with the Pelicans? Good god, paying him something like that would be even dumber than thinking he was your best candidate.$3 mill, 5-year contract. He's one of our own and deserves that if hired. This is Syracuse.
The downslide certainly did, but I thought they’d find the resources to try and remain a national brand and frankly the haven’t.It started well before he retired.

I took that as he wants to pay him 600K a yearWho are we bidding against, his merit raise with the Pistons? Good god, paying him something like that would be even dumber than thinking he was your best candidate.
Is that REALLY a good thing though? One of the many perks of being retired now is I can stay current on this thread with the rest of you animals.
Well crap, I didn't but I like it!I took that as he wants to pay him 600K a year![]()
