The idea that the SU admin is playing morality cop given the annual depravity we saw from our hoops team over 40 years is comical. I don't believe it for a second.

Michael Edwards smashed up the Sutter's Mill owner's car with a hammer the first month I was on campus and didn't miss a game. Come on now.

Not to nitpick, but I believe this was your sophomore year because I think we started the same year. We were able to enjoy a full 3 semesters of Sutters and using a student ID to get in before Mike Edwards ruined it for everyone.

Syracuse and the Admin understand that fball drives the bus, they could easily cut half the football NIL resources and have Hodgson here in a heartbeat but it would make zero sense. SU has to continue to try and cultivate additional outside NIL dollars and the fanbase has to understand the fiscal reality of where the University is.

If they ever want to have a high-level basketball program again, it is a cycle they have to break. The NIL funds for basketball will continue to go in a downward trend as long as we continue to put a losing product on the court. Nobody wants to dump money into a loser program. Last year, they pumped one-time money into a program for Red, and if he won then there would be money again, but since Red is a bad coach he didn't win, so the money isn't there.

It is a cycle that someone is going to have to break. Fran did it and got money for McCord won a bunch of games and scored a ton of points now the NIL funds, even after a down year is still coming in. Basketball needs to break the cycle once. Hire a great coach with great basketball systems give him the money he needs once and see what happens. If it turns around and we start winning again then the money will start coming in again.

This whole situation makes less sense by the minute. I don’t understand how we went from Hodgson being a done deal for the past year to bringing in GMac so we can also grab Ryan freaking Blackwell. I also don’t understand the whole “none of the players have offers except Nait George” Colgate doesn’t want Donnie Freeman? I’m assuming what’s really happening is those guys aren’t being offered comparable money at the p4 level and are hoping Cuse will keep the gravy train rolling for them.

Finally the talk about Hodgsons fiancée is bordering on weird/creepy. If someone sounded the alarm on him because of her then they didn’t really want him to be the coach here in the first place.

So our next coach may once again, be someone in-house, because he can help pay for NIL (but no one else in the country wants aside from maybe GT or BC). Then our players from this year's team may all return because no one else wants them.

Ok I’m 80 and not to bright. If SU is in that horrible of a financial mess it’s already over. The team needs a new coach and make a big splash in the portal. No money no. Players, no chance. Tirico was on with Steve Infante- kept repeating a similar mantra that we all need to get along. He sorta called out those on social media bashing people, but if you read between the lines I think he was also sending a message to our boosters to stop the infighting.

I’m sure he sees it first hand. “My money only for my guy”. It was an interesting listen.

hold on there on that. No doubt concerning trends, BUT we aint dead yet. Franchilla is right this place is primed to be resurrected, as long as we're at least competitive in NIL. Which we are. Not top 20 yet and maybe never will, but with hoops it isn't like football where you need 20+ top quality players to be good, more to be great.

Hoops you need 3 studs to compete, 5-7 to be real good even great. the numbers still work. I get folks feel the jurys out if we're dead or not. Hint...we aint dead. Stay on the train.
