I don’t know about any high profile assistant or high mid major coach taking this job simply because of the resources. Some of these guys are better positions where they’re at.
So as far as Hogdson, when we were told it was a salary issue only, and nothing to do with NIL, was false?I dont necessarily disagree and SU is more then willing to make the salary commitments needed. Issue is the outside NIL money, you cant break the cycle with IOUs or state bailouts, its gotta come from somewhere and right now it doesn't exist.
Luke MurrayI mentioned that above both brothers changed and leaned heavily into offense the last two years. Why? No clue I would ask in the interview. Its almost like they got some coaching together from someone.
Sure seems like he could fund basketball each year. Haha.Does anyone know if David Zaslav, the head of Warner Bros Discovery, gives money to SU Athletics? He’s on the board of trustees, and I never hear his name come up. He’s insanely wealthy, and is now poised for another huge payout. Everyone in Hollywood hates him for his role in the ongoing destruction of the industry and the labor force there due to continued corporate consolidation. He’s more of a banker than a studio head. Anyhow it’s not like we don’t have insanely wealthy alumni who are Syracuse stakeholders.

One of the best-paid executives in Hollywood has already made $113m after selling shares in WBD this monthwww.theguardian.com
But the Lallys are his people? They could've easily paid that no? So confusingI've heard some rumblings but I believe NIL guarantees played a big role and Hodgsons agent may have also overplayed his hand
PMJ, not necessarily a surprise but...It’s either Gerry or a surprise candidate. Who are siding with?

Earlier someone said we don't have many big money alumni, and I mentioned some in the entertainment industry, among other industries and this is one of them I was thinking about. There are quite a few. Some pretty famous people also graduated from SU. You just don't hear a lot about those who are not as famous.Does anyone know if David Zaslav, the head of Warner Bros Discovery, gives money to SU Athletics? I’d take Gerry in this scenario. Skinn’s offense is offensive.Elite defensive metrics
From 007 earlier this month:Blair is in charge of picking the new head coach, correct?
One of my favorite past times is spending other people's money for themHe's about to be worth a cool billion. His fortune will throw off about $80M per year in returns. He could fund football and basketball without breaking a sweat.
My pipe dream would be a few of these guys who are 'Cuse alums getting together and seeding an NIL endowment. Get a few hundred million in there, spend no more than half its annual returns and let it grow.
Love the pipe dream! Passion and interest are here on syracusefan wish we had a Marc Cuban who loves cuse athletics as much as he loves the hoosiers!Dare I say, Skinn to win.I'd take G-Mac over Skinn
That’s a problem if they have a revenue problem. This is new $20 million hit to their annual budget is on top of their annual expenses. If revenue crashes where do you they will get the money? NIL is another entirely different topic.I assume rev share is not our problem. There’s a cap on it, right? I’d think any serious programs are maxing out the rev share every year. It’s the outside NIL money we need.
We have a lot of successful alums, but it appears most of the uber wealthy ones aren’t all that interested in sports. Or maybe we’ve just done a poor job keeping them connected to the school? That said isn’t Zaslav on the BOT at some level? Maybe he’s just a nerd.Earlier someone said we don't have many big money alumni, and I mentioned some in the entertainment industry, among other industries and this is one of them I was thinking about.
