Coach Search Options after Autry

You don't think that playing 3 guys down didn't have anything to do with that? See I do. He coached an exhausted team against a great team. And his team was right there. We can spin this anyway anyone wants to. But this board had a season long love affair with a coach whose team didn't show for most of the game today. And have also crapped on Gerry all year. We saw them both in their most important games of the season. Gerry is limited with this team because they can't shoot. It's tough to run great sets when you can't shoot. Now, I want to see Gerry, as I have said all year, what he can do without Doty. But he has my great respect right now.
If we’re going to say Siena was without 3 starters. Duke was without 2. Lot easier for a 16 seed to get up to play a 1 seed then the other way around.

I said I was impressed with Siena and their fight. I just was also not surprised by the lack of offensive sets to get open shots in the second half.

I would congratulate Martelli. and I don't care if he does or doesn't. If he gets the job at the Cuse, great. It's just that so many bowed down to BH, who I wanted as the coach. I bought in to it. But I never put Gerry's coaching down like others have here. But who did South Florida beat this year who exactly this year? Southy Florida looked totally unprepared today. I can't imagine what would have been said if Siena looked like that against #1 seed Duke.
I never once put his coaching down.

I thought Gerry was going to turn us down. Lol.

Doty went 7/20 and scored 21 points. Right up our alley. And they got blown out in the 2nd half. Just like a Syracuse team.
And that last line is too funny. You should take that act on the road. Playing without 3 guys and being Siena against Duke. What did they lose by?

yeah, because it is easy to run sets against 5 star players
what's he going to do next season? We getting 5 star players? This is all the same smoke you've been blowing for 10 years. Next year will be our year!

Or are we going to get the well, these players didn't play for Gerry, they're selfish and didn't get better, etc. but we just have to wait three years before things can change, oh well, syracuse fans suck anyway.

No way. A 16 playing without 3 guys is much more limiting than a #1 playing without 2 starters. And it's not close. The guys on the bench for Duke are starters for a lot of teams. The guys after 8 can't play at all for a school like Siena.

While I would still prefer an outside candidate, if they hire gmac I’m good. Very impressive today.

This is where I am at.

Gmac is certainly WAY better than Red by an order of magnitude, but I still think we need to pop the incest hiring bubble on the program. Incest is not healthy and we can't move forward in a truly modern capacity without doing that.

What are you talking about? 10 years? Just stop.

Red almost won 25 games this season. The football team almost won the ACC championship.

Welcome to Syracuse. Almost is good enough.
Calm down. You are making yourself look stupid. I know it's been a tough couple of days. The hero is out as our next coach. Then he craps all over himself in their first and only tournament game and then Gerry has to look good vs Duke.

I think Gerry has a lot of positives as a coach. He shows great passion and gets his kids to play hard and with great passion and super unselfish. I think he has a promising future but will need to find an offensive coordinator. I think he could use more time to figure out that side of the ball. The offensive issues will get exposed at the P4 level on a nightly basis.
I agree with this and maybe he would be open to the idea. It worked for Hurley. You have to admit he has shown us something these last couple weeks.

I wasn't initially on BH but then felt he was the best option out there. My main concern and had said this before is his D stinks and resembles the D at Bama, as that's not a main concern for them, but just to run ISO ball and jack up 3's.

I don't know man...with a 3 man offense, no bench, and their best player being injured, they scored more on Duke than Virginia, Louisville, Carolina, Texas, NC State and Michigan did during games against them this year. They also scored essentially the same amount as Florida and Kansas did too. I guess all of them must be running low-major offensive sets.

Recency bias is a cognitive bias where individuals overemphasize recent events, data, or experiences over historical ones when making decisions or forming opinions.

Because recent information is more easily recalled from short-term memory, this tendency causes people to mistakenly believe the recent past will predict the future.

BH still might be or have be the best option. It's just fun to see the reaction of this board to today's games.
