There is no way in hell we will be ranked in the preseason.
We have 15 million NIL and a proven winner coming as a coach who wouldn't want to play here?

The issue isn’t GMacs ability. The issue is it will end up being a lazy hire that was only made because he played here. If GMacs Siena career was exactly the same but he went to school at Penn State …….. I doubt he’s in our vision. GMac could end up being amazing here … but he was only hired cuz he went here and that’s the problem.Ryan Odom parlayed actually beating the #1 seed in the tournament to the getting the job at that same school......
seven years (and two stops) later.
He's undoubtedly had a great run.
We'll obviously never know what would have happened if he jumped at the 1st major offer he received. And he was a Hampden-Sydney grad, so he couldn't really go back to his alma mater and save the day.
He only has two other scholarship players. They’re both freshman and aren’t close to being ready to play. He was smart to play the guys who gave him a chance to win.for anyone that thinks GMac is ready he basically pulled the same crap Jim used to do. PLAY YOUR FREAKING BENCH!! The starters were spent! Cost them the game. Gerry is NOT READY!!
You on a sarcasm role now lol.We have 15 million NIL and a proven winner coming as a coach who wouldn't want to play here?
They aren’t close to the best team since KenPom came out.Laughable! They’re the best team since the invention of KenPom. That’s why I said statistically. Some of
You can’t read
GMAC is always injured!Hopefully Syracuse offers a good benefit package.
GMAC is always injured!
Siena wouldn't have won 10 #@*ing games without Gerry on the sidelines. NOT TEN!GMAC is always injured!
Amazing the depth they lost and how tough they played…. I wasn’t a fan of the GMac hire but seeing Siena today definitely changed my perspective. He will need better players here but ….Honestly trying to think if I’ve ever seen a team outside of kid club hoops where only 5 guys played
I have very mixed feelings right now.
There is a voice inside me saying: Cool. Now that GMac didn't upset a top seed in the tournament in a game that was closer than it should have been, like four or five teams almost but don't do every year, he is now perfect for Syracuse basketball as it aims to almost but not quite beat every team on its conference schedule.
But there's also part of me who doesn't want his Orange memory tarnished.
If the next coach is GMac I will root for him, but my single greatest worry is instead of my forever memory of him being a NCAA champion and tough as nails dude who almost single-handedly won us a Big East Tournament Championship it becomes him being the Coach who presided over the death spiral of the program.
Thank you for telling me this. Ken Pom is a complete joke. This team, is good, but is nowhere near the best team ever assembled. They also held the largest lead at half of any 16 seed ever. And Duke is statistically the best team to ever be assembled in CBB history according to KenPom
You played me Phil. Very good!We have 15 million NIL and a proven winner coming as a coach who wouldn't want to play here?
Agree completely.Bias can also prevent people from making use of new information to make informed decisions. Just sayin'...
That's a very fair take.I don’t think it’s that. He substantially improved win total in year 2, won a conference championship and there were questions about whether he could coach at highest level. He proved it today.
It’s so bizarre to hear about this “one shot deal.” Like who was investing in NIL for Red when he hadn’t proven anything as a head coach his first two years, but we could get an actual proven coach this offseason who it would make more sense to invest money in. I don’t get it. But rich people gonna do weird rich people things, I guess. The general feeling has been that while we had about 9 million this year, all in, that was a one shot deal and it would be tough to match that this year.
Agree completely.
That's a very fair take.
I've softened on Gerry being HC *IF* it comes with a massive influx of NIL money and that influx is more than just a first year spike.
Isn’t that the same ankle he has problems with after the 2006 BE Tourney? He could barely play the following week in our first round NCAA game. He gutted that game out with sheer will and painkillers.I wonder how it happened.
Does Gerry want the know he was devastated when he didn’t get it first time around. Gerry is a winner always has been. Remember the bud loads of fans that came to every game at the game thousands. Yes I was there. Gerry gave 100% every single night. Now he’s proven what we all knew, he’s a winner. If offered does he take the job? I don’t know, if the NIL is 5to 8 I tell him walk away. The reaction from former players at SU are all saying GMAC needs to get the job.
Dude gave it everything and then some. Played with likely a sprained ankle. Warrior.Dude proved to me today he can play at a higher level. I watched him a few times this year and he’s a gamer but I wasn’t sure he was physical enough. We’ve been missing a competitor like that.
They aren’t close to the best team since KenPom came out.Laughable!
