Yup. I still believe he was brought in for exactly that reason. Fresh start.

Also that BH got wind that BB was not going the direction that had been preset with Lyke and Lally so well you know he got revenge on us by making us look like clowns with Goodman and leveraging a better deal with USF. Whatever we deserve it and put ourselves in that boat.

Same could be said about the inhouse family guys as well with Hop and Gmac. I think BB told them to kick rocks when they said Hop needed to be the guy 3 weeks ago or else and then again last week after the MaaC tourney throwing all their support into Gmac.

There are guys that will or have interviewed and stand out more than both BH and Gmac. Will the NIL in one direction or another with the candidates matter though is the real question. Money talks and honestly Gmac checked alot of boxes today.

someone yesterday said unknown secretive interviews were happening this week and someone else said a big chunk of NIL came in this morning. That's what I'm happy about.

I’m not sure we’re going to get Gerry. I think the key would be getting him the resources he wants. He’s not going to come here if the NIL isn’t there. And the only way the $ is there is if Melo can be convinced to support Gerry like he is planning to support Hop.

If that happens, and it’s huge if, I think ultimately JB helps smooth over the hard feelings and convinces GMAC to take the job.

Random made up theory. The only reason this kid is ready to scrub Siena from his IG so fast, after a night like this, is because his coach just told him he was rolling out.

There was some tiff that Melo had with GMac in the 2002-03 season till they had a players meeting after the Rutgers loss. That could still be part of this as some guys still won't totally let bygones be bygones.

I'm not hostile. And for the record I wanted BH as the coach. I never said I wanted Gerry. But I did get sick of people putting what he was doing at Siena down because they were afraid that anything positive about Gerry somehow took something away from Hodgson. Oh, by the way, Siema was in the game the whole way against Duke. South Florida were waxed by the ville most of the game. Totally unprepared.

I don't necessarily think it's unprepared, but it is one of the flaws with the analytics based offenses. They generally rely so heavily on jacking up 3's that they don't really have anything to pivot to if they're missing. 1/17 from 3 in the first half or whatever it was and they were basically buried. It's the right approach mathematically but sometimes these are the results you get.
