This has generally been my suspicion throughout all this especially after Hodgson left the picture. It takes two to tango. We can court all we want, but the other side has to say yes.

Too many rumors pertaining to JB being around, NIL uncertainty, etc constantly gave me the vibe only one of our own (GMac or Hopkins) would take the job.

A lot of that was due to personnel issues. I mean he had 7 guys. Sometimes you have to play a way the players are capable.

With the roster Gerry had, which let’s face it. Not the greatest. I think he could possibly do wonders here with the right players that HE wants out of the portal with sufficient NIL.

GMac had the most NIL in the MAAC and didn't win the regular season. I am sure it will be different when he is a P4 coach.

Regular season in the MAAC is irrelevant. I suspect if they won the regular season but lost in the tournament finals there would be complaints about that, too.

I'm not going to begrudge anyone being disappointed, but I don't that's the fairest of criticisms.
