There is no world where having three former Siena players on a Syracuse basketball roster would seem okay. And I truly do understand why it might happen. But I hope that if it does happen, people here will refrain from calling people haters and pretending it is normal.

I'd take Doty and the Moesch kid, but not Folefac, unless he was willing to be the 8th or 9th man. Doty would make a good role player/6th man and probably a solid starter if sticks around for his senior season. And Moesch is going to surprise people. Might need a year in the weight room, but will end up being best pure PG we've had in a long time.

Doty, Folefac, Moesch, and someone mentioned Shoats, who I guess is out of eligibilty. I just don’t think using 25% of your roster on MAAC level guys, based on maybe one game vs P5 competition, is the best use of resources if we want to compete in tha ACC. If you do, so be it.

Yup. And ppl here will get after me for this but with our fanbase they just don’t care that these other guys turned around programs in Arkansas and Indiana st and South florida and St. Louis. They’re like who and where and it’s all the same to them.

Maybe an acc program or big east team they knew would make them perk up and get more interested but those guys arent out there anyway.

They would get excited when we WIN! Or start getting great players. That’s how you bring the fans back. So I’d rather hire a proven coach who will have a better chance of succeeding than a less proven guy.

At this point, while he hasn't done one thing as a coach, people are looking to nit pick and fault with everything they can think of. Does anyone here really believe that Gerry is going to flood his starting and playing time with Siena players. Hold your hand up right now if that is what you think he is going to do so we can hold that to you later on? Personally, I don't care who sits at the end of our bench. Gerry wants to win. He knows better than anyone here what it takes to win at this level. He played at it. He isn't going to be playing a bunch of Siena guys. No offense to them. This is exhausting. I'm waiting for the post that declares it's time to end the Gerry experiment. It just didn't work out.

I hope that no one ever gets the chance to say its time to end the Gerry experiment.

She may not know all of hoops but she watch’s every game.

I really couldn't care less if they're just depth pieces, though I suspect Doty would be coming here for a significant role.

Even in our good years we generally have like 5+ guys that are borderline D1 caliber players.

I think Doty can pretty clearly play and Folefac seems fairly promising for a freshman if we're purely looking at him as bench depth.

Folefac is a really intriguing prospect. Physical kid who defends well and has good footwork and is just a freshman. Nice piece to have off the bench and has a lot of potential.

The issue isn't having guys like a Folefac or a Jaquan Carlos on your roster. The issue is if you bring those guys in to be starters. We've had much worse players in the past playing 5-10 minutes. The issue is if it's like Carlos where we're asking him to play 20+

Yeah, the portal will be rife with filler guys that their agent bigged-up to get them to portal and will get towards the end of the portal and are still looking for a place to land... Fillers always available... Souare, etc...

I don't know. I think he will want Doty. But other than him, no clue. I am going to wait to see who we have on the team before I worry about kids from Siena.
