All coaches see things a little differently. You certainly can get stuck with an organization who doesn’t value your skill set as much as others do.You don't think coaches see guys in practice and decide who can help them in games? Are all 12th men not getting a chance? Remove the orange colored glasses.
He's played in 35 games. He got neary 20 min per game in the 8 he played for Toronto last year. He's never shot over 40%. For a guy who's best trait is shooting, you have to be better than that in whatever opportunties you have, if you're going to stick. It's not that he's bad or that I don't want him to succeed. The NBA is a really hard job to land, and every year there's another group of talented young guys trying to take the job you want. There is not really much practicing in the sense of all out scrimmages during the season in the NBA.
I think in my earlier post when I noted he'd shot 38% (2) and 36% (3), and he needed half a shot more made a game, in my math I wasn't dumb enough to think each make was a 3, but with an even split of 2s and 3s, that half a shot more bumps his percentages to 45% and 41%, and that gets him a roster spot in a minute. that's all it takes. He's played in 35 games. Maybe year 4 is the year.I think in my earlier post when I noted he'd shot 38% (2) and 36% (3), and he needed half a shot more made a game, in my math I wasn't dumb enough to think each make was a 3, but with an even split of 2s and 3s, that half a shot more bumps his percentages to 45% and 41%, and that gets him a roster spot in a minute. that's all it takes.

He might be 14th man on Lakers but 10th man or situational shooter on a poorer shooting team.
IMO he makes a roster somewhere this year.
What does he make now?Cole has done all he can to make an NBA roster. His rebounding and defense has greatly improved. If he doesn’t land on a roster this season, he should focus on making as much money as he can overseas with what little time he has left.
He has made good money the past couple of years on 2 way contracts, but I don’t believe he currently has a contract. What does he make now?
