College Bball is in a steep decline

Why would the players want to set caps on NILs?

Does the NBA salary cap have a cap on shoe deals?

Again, I'm not arguing the need for it or if it would make the sport better. I'm speaking the reality of the landscape. People consistently say stuff like "There should be a cap" or "They shouldn't allow the portal" (Already denied in court) or the whole you have to stay in school 2 years (NBA Players won't sign off on that).

I wish people on this board would read up on the cases and the reasons why it is how it is currently before basically asking for impossible things

Well, regarding your first question; fact is, NILs in college are not legit/true NILs, but as the entire world knows, pay for play. So, of course, they wouldn't be in favor of capping such a winfall & runaway train that it is in its current state.

2nd question; because shoe deals for individual players are true NIL in every sense of the word, that's why, and they have no authority/jurisdiction to cap such a prosperity.

I wonder...if there was a collective bargaining agreement amongst players, et al, if they (the majority) would agree to do what they did several years back relative to NFL rookie deals? Thereby eliminating what the Sam Bradford's, etc. of the world cashed in on versus spreading the wealth, so to speak, to the 'collective' good?

As people get older they think everything gets worse said every generation ever.
Some people do.

Ask some teenagers about basketball, though. You'd be surprised to hear that many of them think the sport was way better years ago. They've watched the clips on YouTube and Tik Tok, so it's not an ill-informed opinion.

NHL hockey is substantially better than it was 30 years ago. Now that they’ve started marketing players, they’re in a good spot for growth.

I don’t know of any possible way to make the same argument for college basketball - sometimes people are correct and something specific did, in fact, get worse.
