Comments about the chat room...

Think the only time I did the chat roomw as for the ND game we lost in 2012 without Fab. 10 or 15 minutes was enough for me.
But I'm not big on chatting durign the game anyway

Agreed especially on your second paragraph/point. Some posters just need a vent I know I do sometimes and you can tell some guys like Iommi can really get frustrated when Syracuse is not playing well. I dont use the chat for every game but its nice to go in there and have someone who can feel your pain or enjoy the win with you, Last Saturday it was classic how Iommi called the exact Miami possesion and deep three the second Syracuse squandered a chance to take the lead late in the second half. Its a comforting feeling when others know the classic Syracuse moments each game.

In this instance you have me mistaken for someone else. I was in the Miami game chat room in the first half and announced my leave when were struggling to change mojo and also to make sure I didn't make any rash judgements or posts in the chat room. I did the same thing during the Nova game--worked like a charm then too.

I used to be over the top in the chat room (I do use the room to vent sometimes) but I've become much more disciplined and measured in my approach lately.

try doing that on your phone as well. I have hilariously tried the chatroom on my phone and gave up. Moves too fast and the keyboard is slow.

Agreed the phones don't go fast enough. Now days I usually watch on TV and have a couple pages open on the tablet which works better than the phone for these things. the I may have a game on the laptop muted that I'm also keeping track of.

I really don't get how one can be in there chatting while simultaneously watching a game. I mean, I'm so dang locked in during an SU hoops game I can't even hear people when they try and talk to me, let alone reading/typing posts in a chat room.
To each his/her own I s'pose

There isn't necessarily anything that needs to be fixed. Fans oftentimes have a negative outlook when caught up in the excitement of a game where things aren't going 100% how they had hoped. For some it is hard to remain optimistic, for others I think a bit of negativity serves as a defense mechanism to prepare them for the disappointment of a possible loss.

I made one of the first comments regarding the chatroom in response to a posters question about when we could expect the board to meltdown. My comment wasn't intended to pan our chatroom. I find it to be a great place to ride out a game that I can't watch. Collectively as fans we tend to be a bit nervous watching out team, I suppose this manifests itself differently in different people and each of us have differing levels of tolerance for it.

Kind of like turning the distortion pedal off, huh? ;)

I don't even answer the phone ... it's a land line and it's not in in the room :D

Sorry could have sworn it was you who called that three, sorry for the confusion. Agreed with the need for venting, we all need it at times.

You weren't in the room when igor was. Truth

LOL I was for one game this year, he was way out in left fied as usual but Joyce was there and she had this magical calming affect on him, it was amazing to see.

Me too. The word that if I say it out loud I have to move out.

Whether I contribute or not, I always like having the chat open during a game. You never know what kind of nuggets will be unearthed through the discussion that goes on.

chatroom = my life line to Cuse games

I spend half the year in China where the video feeds are either non-existent or horrendously slow. Because of the chatroom and few kind souls who do an excellent PBP when requested, I have learned to visualize games through this and the augmented collective "ugh", "crap", .. "YES!", "LGO!" of my fellow brethren. I'm there now and look forward to another chatroom experience for the UNC game.

Bad thing about the chat tonight is that it is an away game, I have no conflicts and will be watching it at home....and will probably be in the chat.
