concessions also going cashless

The art of sticking your cash out while standing at the bar to get your next beer must not be lost.
This I agree with, however it’s gone.

I should’ve realized this place was filled a bunch of people clamoring for masks, yet are so ready to be exchanging cash with strangers.

who had masks on…yet exchange cash, in the board covid pool??

No biggie, I seldom have cash anymore. Welcome to 2021 . Have my tickets on wallet, do miss having actual ticket. For instance the laminated Clemson stub( 2017 )looks good hanging from your SU flag in your man cave.
You can always print out the screen capture of the ticket(s).

I did like the tickets with pictures on them, etc., from years past.

For now, I’m just happy to see the Orangemen play again, and hopefully go bowling. LGO!

It’s almost as if you’re more likely to catch an airborne disease through your nose/mouth than your hands.

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but what brands of adult beverages do they have on tap? Thanks.

If it’s airborne only, why even have fans??

and go 1 minute without bringing your hands close to your mouth and nose.

and are people really that scared of being ‘discovered’ on the ‘grid’???

got news for you all, if you somehow managed to buy your ticket with cash from a friend, family or trusted source.if you are worth the governments time to look for, those ticket sources will give you up like Cuse QB turns over the football…quickly and with flair.

I use cash fairly frequently just because it’s easier for me to keep track of what I am spending to be honest.

If fair attendance is any indicator of the cashless impact, it doesn’t bode well for ticket sales.

I would hope that's the plan, they're everywhere now. So easy to pay with a credit card, or tap your phone.

This should be welcome news to anyone who wants to spread less germs around the Dome.

Plus, sitting on a thinner wallet is better for your back and hips.
Yes, every concession stand; every beer kiosk; every place where things are sold in the dome will have a credit card device where you can tap snd pay. If you don’t have your phone set up for this, you can insert your card or swipe it.

The concession workers will not take your card and don’t even have access to the machine.

There is a pandemic. It is serious. This is a way to fundamentally reduce risk. It will greatly speed the process of getting food and/or drink, which also reduces risk and improves the fan experience.

It will be interesting to see if they go back to taking cash after the pandemic is over (if that ever happens, sigh).

At the Dome? No idea, there is a total revamping going on with concessions. Some of your familiar stops in the concourses will be gone or at least moved.

Gotta figure A-B products and LaBatts...we'll know more in 2 weeks.

Well you could be right...just wonder how much is just Covid?

Lot's of retirees and luddites are going to either adapt or stop going.

If done right...cashless will speed up the lines
That is my thought on this - less volunteer run concession stands operating at tortoise speed is needed. Same as with the beer can vendors outside - we need to move people thru the concourse faster and more efficiently. IF this is the method I'm all in.

so is SU eating the cost of going cash less or bumping the price up and passing it on to us?
What do you think? And, does it matter? What are your other did options in the Dome? Is ten cents more going to keep you from buying a beer/tenders/Dome dog?

I think we need to stop trying to find every angle possible to explain when ticket sales are slow. A team coming off a one win season + a raging pandemic is enough. Full stop. Maybe we lose a percentage or two here or there for other things...masking, cashless, etc. But those just arent the drivers.

I think we finally found an equivalent of raking leaves as a lame excuse ( I don’t like cashless concessions)

One thing, we were told ticket sales were not really slow. Out preforming 2017 and 18.

Am I the only one that has a problem with this? I didn't have my credit card until I was 25. There is a contingent of people who won't go because of this. All of those options have to be linked to a bank account or credit card. Not everyone has one. On top of that, I'd like to know the legality of something like this. Seriously..."this note is legal tender for all debts, public and private". I don't like just handing my credit card over to my kids but they are 13 and 17 and perfectly capable of taking a $10 bill to go get a soda and popcorn. Now I have to get up every time they want to buy something? Bad call SU and likely to make a dent in your concession/merch sales.
This is completely legal and seems to be the direction that most things are trending in. I have been to 2 large Live Nation concert venues since July 21 and they have gone 100% cashless. If your kids don't have a debit or credit card, buy a prepaid one and load them up with some money so they can purchase their own concessions. cashless transactions will make the lines move much much quicker too.

Now I’m trying to add credit cards to my Apple wallet and all it does is spin and spin and spin and spin and spin……and FM!

I just love how technology makes our life so simple

seriiously I'm thinking to myself here guess its time to try and figure out how to use the phone pay feature. You're not making me optimistic...thx bro

I believe that’s one of the points of the mask.

Maybe it’s apples to oranges. Lots of seniors enjoy the fair but have no clue how to use a smart phone to buy tickets. Many don’t have credit cards either. That generation is being ostracized especially since virus transfer through bill exchange has been dispelled. If I didn’t help my mom figure this out she would have to stay home.

That being said, seniors typically don’t go to the dome by themselves so it’s less of an obstacle there I assume.

IIRC when I was a kid one of the corners had a Burger King. Am i crazy?
There was a Burger King on the side by the Quad. I think it went missing in 2019 and, of course, the whole damn thing went missing last year.
