concessions also going cashless

One consequence of these changes is that it is confusing and irritating the alumni retirees the university goes after for donations and bequests. Most younger fans will not be making donations for another 10 to 20 years. The Law of Unintended Consequences.

If those alumni retirees attend sporting event and concerts and theatre and such they're well familiar with all of this.

Forgive me if this has already been asked, but what brands of adult beverages do they have on tap? Thanks.
Nothing on tap. All draft beer and fountain soda is gone. It’s strictly cans and plastic bottles grab and go as I understand it. Selection is pretty good. Lots of craft options, mainstream including most major domestics and Labatts. Hard seltzers and premixed cocktail cans too.

This I agree with, however it’s gone.

I should’ve realized this place was filled a bunch of people clamoring for masks, yet are so ready to be exchanging cash with strangers.

who had masks on…yet exchange cash, in the board covid pool??
I use cash…. I basically don’t wear masks unless absolutely required… I hug people I want to hug… I eat in restaurants… I’m vaccinated… I wash my hands..

how about ice?

What’s all this concern about “older fans?” I just registered for Medicare, haven’t carried cash for years or used paper tickets for the last few, and have never gone thirsty in the Dome. Am I some kind of senior savant?

I’m with ya brother. Been retired for three years. Haven’t carried cash for over a year and I have been using mobile tickets at SU for a couple of seasons. I even use one of this smaller Ridge wallets to minimize the crap I carry. Technology has been going this way for several years and I know that dinosaurs go extinct so I got on board.

IIRC when I was a kid one of the corners had a Burger King. Am i crazy?
I might be suffering the same Mandela effect. I could've sworn in late 80s when I was grade school age there was a BK in there

No tap beer? At a stadium? Wow.

Surprised me. Got to think the margins are much higher on draft. Especially if they would invest in a bottoms up system. They are going all in on contact free and not waiting for a concession worker to pour a draft should certainly speed things up, especially if they allow you to take the can which I believe is the plan.

Cans or those screw top bottles? The beer that comes in those bottles is lousier, but I like them because the cap means you can re-close it and avoid spillage

Prefer cans for flavor - hadn’t thought of the spillage before though. Smart.

Not having drunks spilling draft beer everywhere trying to get to their seats, partially getting spilled on your back, not having it pooled at your feet because the dipchit behind you kicked it over…..yeah I am loving the cans and bottles way more.

Honestly could care less either way but personally id always bring cash instead of card so then i have a limit and id rather lose a 20 dollar bill then my debit or credit card.

My dad turns 84 on the day of the Liberty game (and will be in the Dome). He's been retired for more than a decade but still has a full schedule of obligations, meetings, and organizations. He was proficient on Mac, iPad, and iPhone long before most of his peers. He texts, FBs, Zooms, ApplePays, iWallets, can take a decent selfie, and actually knows and uses most of the functions on his iWatch. In my opinion, curiosity and the drive to keep learning is the key to fulfilling senior years. My goal is to keep learning and adapting for the rest of my life- but then again, I have a good role model.

My dad will be 84 in October. He can barely operate his flip cell phone. For him, mobile tickets area non-starter as he's completely incapable/unwilling to deal with technology. Of course he's the same guy that left the paper tickets home in his dresser one time. No system is perfect.
