concessions also going cashless

My dad will be 84 in October. He can barely operate his flip cell phone. For him, mobile tickets area non-starter as he's completely incapable/unwilling to deal with technology. Of course he's the same guy that left the paper tickets home in his dresser one time. No system is perfect.
Haha- My father-in-law shares the same birthday as my dad. He is 7 years younger but seems a decade older. He is in the same boat as your dad and is a bit of a curmudgeon. I think I prefer my dad's route.

i thought one of the big reasons for not going with cans/bottles was safety all these years.. much harder to throw crap on the field.. as recent soccer games have shown they are a weapon..

Absolutely was during basketball season. Not sure about football
There was a Burger King in the dome for a long time on the lower level in the northeast corner (the one closest to Hendricks Chapel).

It went away maybe 15 years ago. But the deep fryer remained and that is why that concession stand was the only one where you could get chicken tenders and fries for many years at the Dome.

As I understand it, the deep fryer wasn't that big of a problem but the ductwork needed to allow the fryer to breathe was. With an air supported dome, it was a no no to open up a bunch of holes for grills and deep fryers.

They were able to do this without a problem once the new roof was finished.

Not having drunks spilling draft beer everywhere trying to get to their seats, partially getting spilled on your back, not having it pooled at your feet because the dipchit behind you kicked it over…..yeah I am loving the cans and bottles way more.
Ouch , I’m sure I’ve been the dips#%^ a few times despite the fact that I don’t get drunk there.

I’m with ya brother. Been retired for three years. Haven’t carried cash for over a year and I have been using mobile tickets at SU for a couple of seasons. I even use one of this smaller Ridge wallets to minimize the crap I carry. Technology has been going this way for several years and I know that dinosaurs go extinct so I got on board.
My go to wallet

One time I used the shoulder of every single person I passed as a handrail to make my way to the bathroom. To be fair, I was 7 months pregnant at the time and didn’t want to fall, but yeah I’ll take a dipstick crown too.

Back in the early 80's, my cousin and I were at the Dome for a Cuse-Georgetown game and sitting up high in the 300s. Prior to tipoff, my cousin bought nachos and their largest soda offering and trudged it up to our seats. While he was getting settled in his seat, the soda tipped over and drenched the man sitting in front of him. He was obviously pissed, and all my cousin could manage was a shrug and a sorry.

Hey pacusewife as a former military guy, if you need my shoulders as a balance/slash guardrail no worries, everyone needs a hand. That's way different than the drunk guy or girl dumping beers. Always happy to help a person, I just don't make a friendly sponge. It's the ones who come to the game already 9 sheets to the wind.

Wait a minute... so there will be no more draft options at the Dome?! How can I b*tc* about paying $7 for a glass half full of foam now.

Aww thank you! I know there’s a huge difference I just felt like a total dipstick lol.

I never use cash for anything, personally - but it’s against state regulations for me, in my industry, to not accept cash payments.

People are going to bog down grabbing 16s out of the cooler, they are wedged into their row
