Yeah, I don't even see this team ranked preseason Top 10 next year.

It's pretty evident this team wasn't making any kind of a run in the tourney the way they've played lately.

Now they might not even make the tourney.

Beat UNC, beat either Brown or ND in the ACCT.

Need to win Bingo and Gate. And hope for one in the ACC. And squeak in.

Barber, Donahue, DeJoe, Piroli on O.

In some cases losing a guy to graduation will be a good thing.

Remember, if we lose to UNC and UVa beats Duke and scores less than 15 goals, we're in the "friendly" against Brown with no shot at winning the AQ.

If they beat UNC they will be in the 2 vs 3 game, with a good chance to make the finals. Only way they play Brown is if UVa blows out Duke by 15 or more. They will make the NCAAs with 3 regular season wins and a loss in the ACC Finals

I just can't see this team winning the ACC tourney title.

Way too many flaws.

Given the way this season has been so unpredictable across the lacrosse map, I'm not ruling out a win over UNC on Saturday.

cornell lost a game the other day winning 20 of 23 faceoffs and basically reversed that tonigh

Last year's team -- just about any SU team over many years -- would have won this game by 5 goals with that advantage.

Seriously weak SU offense.

We need either a Duke win, or UVa to score 15 or more:

There are two sets of three-way deadlocks that can't be solved solely on head-to-head-to-head. The ACC's tiebreaker in such situation has long been goals allowed in common games.

In the case of a Duke/Syracuse/Virginia three-way tie, Virginia allowed 14 goals to Syracuse, Duke 15 to Syracuse and Syracuse 29 in its games against Duke and Virginia, with the Virginia-Duke game still to come. Since Virginia would need to win to force that tiebreaker, it would have to allow fewer goals than Duke next Sunday and would therefore definitely make the semifinals with a victory.

UVa can win 15-14 for all I care. Just as long as Duke allows a combined 30 or more goals to both SU and UVa (we're locked in at 29 G/A).

Or we could just beat UNC.

Only way they play Brown is if UVa blows out Duke by 15 or more.
Unfortunately if Cuse lose to UNC, UVA only need to beat Duke by a goal as they will be in a 3way tie Cuse/UVA/Duke and the tiebreaker is goals conceded in that 3 team mini league. So anything less than a 14-13 UVA win and Cuse will play Brown.
Cuse - 29
Duke - 15
UVA - 14

That bullshit goal at the end of the 1st half came back to bite us.

Your knew it would. I would have bet every dollar I owned that would come back on us. Don't forget the one to end the third either

The fact that we're trying to figure out how this team can make the tourney says everything about this team and this season.

There's a bigger problem here.

On the replay it looks like Mullins was a second late on the slide. Ciferri is right next to Mullins, there should be communication about the slide package. So when Mullins goes, Ciferri is following to cover Mullins man and Firman is recovering to the middle. Thats a terrible goal to lose on

SU basketball

Cuse gave away this game on mental errors, lack of focus. Both ends of the field,
- missed 1-on-1s with the goalie
- substitution foul ups creating offense
- giving up straight up alley dodges for goals
- EMO disaster
- End of Quarter brain farts
- twice letting a man getting wide open on the crease with only seconds left.
- missing uncontested GBs
- missing a wide open feed to Barber on the crease under no pressure leading to a turnover

whatever the opposite of chemistry and high lacrosse IQ is Cuse demonstrated it tonight

as other posters have said this should have been a 5 goal plus victory, but in the words of Bill Parcells "you are what your record says you are!"

Play-offs start Saturday
