I live in Central Texas and know lots of Baylor folks. This thread is hilarious.
Some of y'all need to get out of the Syracuse bubble. Your perception of Dino versus the perception of those outside of Syracuse is miles and miles apart. DIno wouldn't make a top 20 list of Baylor candidates, and for good reason. The total program implosion this year destroyed any national perception of a rising star coach. In hindsight it very well may turn out to be a blip (I sure hope so), but right now he's seen as a guy with some success at lower levels winning with someone else's recruits and had one good year at Syracuse with a very soft schedule before cratering this year. The offense that used to be cutting edge and exotic is less so now that HUNH is widespread.
Edgy, bro.Hopefully
My family goes there and I have no idea why when there are plenty of good steak places close to them in San Antonio. The best part is that Texas Roadhouse is based out of Louisville.I've wondered how those places could actually exist in Texas and who would go there. Similar to who goes to Buffalo Wild Wings when in Buffalo.
It's not just about the Texas schools though. OU and LSU do very well there. Then the rest of the Big 12, SEC and sprinkle in the B1G and PAC 12 schools. Baylor has done a good job by the investments they have made though they will have to continue at that pace if they want to keep up.Not sure I agree, the amount of money they have changes things. They are strongly positioned at the top of the 2nd tier. Below UT and A&M but ahead of TCU and Houston. Being able to pay a coach $6m/year and having that stadium will keep them competitive.
Though Rhule went to Ped St so there's that...I’m not sure anyone with ties to the Briles era ends up back in Waco as the HC. Felt that way when Rhule was hired, still feel that way.
